Hi all, New song "How about you". Still not quite finished. Pete SoundCloud Would like some feedback if possible especially on vocals. Pete this is really really good! The lyrics are super as is the chord structure and the vocals. A real happy kind of I love you song!
Personally I thought that the rhythm guitars were too loud. Try cutting them back and see if the song sounds more balanced. I think it would. I would also keep the drums playing until the end. Again this is just my thoughts and other may or may not agree.
You would get more listens if you put this in the Users Showcase forum.
I always put compression first followed by whatever effects I want to use. Putting compression after can cause some weird sounding artifacts.
Again this is a great song that just needs a little polish IMHO.
I think my wife has started to show the first signs of dementia.
She said she can't remember what she ever saw in me!

Hi Pete, I agree with Mario. Good song, and your Vocal has a lot of charm.........but IMHO far too much reverb!  As Mario said, reverb should be last in the chain.......and listened to again & again. Remixing the tracks will help. I think you should repost this....with another heading...."Advice needed on my original song mix?"......or similar. Also let the 'real experts' know.......was it recorded in BIAB,Realband, or another DAW? What mic etc? But they will give you a lot a good advicce, so it will be well worth spending time on it,  Pete. Regards, Joe G.
