From the Forum Rules
The Propellerhead forums have a button for reporting posts to the mods. Sometimes--very rarely--I wish we did, too.
There actually is an even better button that I use. Click on the name of the poster who offends you, and you will find an ignore button. You never have to see a thing the person posts again but doesn't prevent anyone else from seeing it.

I know about it and have used it, again very rarely. I think we have a deeper problem here.

Under the line post extras is an icon to inform the moderator. I see no vitriol here, nor do I perceive a problem. The Electoral College business I studied in Political Science class, but it's an oddity. We have lots too. A few weeks will go by and the new topic will be something else. And Bruce can go back to being just Bruce and not canvassing. That's an interesting word, they used to put up canvass signs where people walked and talk to the voters. Or so I read. England. Way back. Calm cool collected, and pass the meds.

We will not see the type of national health care that Canada has in our lifetime. Never happen. Medicine is a business. A big business. Obama can say whatever he thinks you want to hear to get your vote. Nobody makes him stick to his empty promises. They only need to get you to drink the kool aid twice and then can't run again. Apparently you bought it.

I took a look at all your post. You have not always posted topics about music, BIAB, or the like. You have also posted a lot of topics that where very un-related to this forum. I can provide you with a list if you would like!!! So if you report this to the moderator about this topic; I will do the same with some of the other topics that you have posted.
Music is an expression that is a universal language, Never criticize anybody to harshly. They need time to grow but when they do, they do. Always be kind in what you say and do because the man upstairs is watching.

Ryszard, you were looking for a button to report posts to the mods? We do have just such a button. It's the second from right in the list of Post Extras, at the bottom of each post.
I use it frequently to report spam to the Moderators. Or the first post by someone who is selling something. Or Asian Escorts in Canada, whatever they are. Or, less frequently, personal attacks.

Drinking Kool-Aid is a very condecending term that implies that no one could have an intelectually valid reason for thinking differently than the speaker. The very reason that our government is malfunctioning is that no one respects the other side as having arrived at their opinion through anything other than mindlessness.

Discussions about Politics, sex and arguments about religion should NEVER be allowed. I received a you-tube linkie today where some guy has morphed ALL the American Presidents faces from the 1st to the latest, and the music is 'Hooked on America' performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. To me THIS is the limit of political discussion on this forum, because it is a-political and a very clever video with nice music

I'm just glad the election is over with! I could definitely sympathize with this little girl: "Tired of Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjrthOPLAKM

Romney won the popular vote. But Obama won the Election
The Electorial College was an institution designed to give the slave holding states more power over the selection of the U.S. President than they would have had with the popular vote. Ironic that the same institution gives their decendents a black President.
It was that and also to help the small states since every one gets two senators. That makes an invididual's vote in a small state count more than one a large state.
The old South also got more representation in congress because it got white representatives based on 3/5's of the slaves population as well as all the white.

If you want to start a war all you have to do is to talk about politics or religion

Oh, I finally got it. They guy who gets the most votes does not win. The guy who comes 2nd out of 2 wins. So some votes counted more than others. Weird. They should try that in NASCAR. LOL.
I guess we have weird politics in Canada in that the Queen passes the laws, but if it were not for good old England Canada would not be Canada at all.
Whatever. I just try and stay out of it all.
I've never been able to see any difference between royalty and dictators. But I like Canada just the same.

I am just happy that Obama won. I am all for this national health care. There are so many people that can’t even afford to go to the doctor when they need it. My brother worked very hard all his life and is now running into a lot of heath issues and needs that healthcare. Also, I spoke to a man from Canada that was for Obama. He said that he had lived in Canada before for most of his younger life and he said and I quote! No matter what people tell you about the healthcare; well, everybody loves it. This is our chance in the U.S. to step outside of our comfort zone and try something new. I know that there are a lot off opposing opinions out there but they are entitled to their opinion and I am entitled to mine. I am not looking to get into it with anyone so I would appreciate it if you anyone would keep the roar to a minimum. Thanks I am happy that Obama won...
Absolutely. Everybody needs healthcare. Saying that one wants to "opt" out is like saying they can "opt" out of national defense.
We've had socialized medicine up til now. People with insurance end up paying for people without. Obama just wants more people to at least pay something.

I was pleased that we’d ALMOST made it through this election cycle without having a political discussion on the forum. I’ve participated in them here before, but now I try to discourage them. Besides being against the forum rules, they’re also a colossal waste of time. Even if tempers don’t flare up, nothing that any of us say will change any hearts or minds. So if Obama was your guy, … congratulations! If Romney was your guy, … get over it. The election is FINALLY over and we don’t have to watch those ridiculous campaign commercials for a while. FWIW, I’m not saying elections don’t matter, because they obviously do. I voted a couple of weeks ago in early voting. When the next election rolls around, I’ll go vote again if I’m able. In the meantime, I don’t feel compelled to spout my beliefs and annoy those around me. They don’t want to hear my opinion any more than I want to hear theirs.

No, drinking the kool aid is a term meaning "blindly following even if you have no real reason other than everybody else is doing it". You think those people who followed Jim Jones to (literally to death) had an intellectually valid reason to follow him and belong to his cult?
In this case, draw your own conclusion about the amount that ethnicity contributes.

That is exactly my point. You are saying that people taking the opposite view from you do it because they are like the followers of Jim Jones. Mindless followers. I can assurwe you that as much as you would like to believe that, it just isn't so and its insulting for you to say it.

I can't believe that you even had the nerve to type that but it speaks volumes. Not much way to respond to that kind of thinking so I'll just let it be.

So every voter decided who they'd vote for based solely on issues and nothing else? Nobody voted blindly based on anything else? Democrats didn't vote for the democrat even if the democrat is Satan himself? Republicans who vote for the republican just because he is a republican? Do you believe that every voter did research, weighed both sides and made an informed decision about who would be the best man to regenerate the economy, to lure jobs back from foreign shores, to get kids to go to school, to make an effort to put an end to the drug epidemic, to bring our troops home from a war we should have been out of long ago as was promised by the victorious candidate in 2008?
How many people did not vote for Kennedy because he was Catholic? How many people did not vote for McCain because his running mate was a woman? He didn't learn from Mondale who pretty much surrendered when he picked Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate? Whether she was qualified or not, was the world ready for a female president in 1984? (I know she was selected to run for vice president, but the vice president is one heart attack away from being president.)
If it was a pristine process, there wouldn't be the "clueless" vote who pick their candidate by buying into his lies about how much money he is going to put in their pockets. I have been voting since age 21 (1972) and every year both candidates promise they are going to lower taxes. My taxes have NEVER gone down since I started voting, so literally, the candidates lied to us.
But you go on believing that everybody voted for their choice for only the right reasons. Santa will be here in a couple of months, too.
