Hehe. Good one John. In that election, I think all 4 of them were "knuckleheads".

That was the only presidential election since I was 18 where I didn't vote. Regardless of who won, ... America loses.

I decided not to participate in that farce.

I voted a write-in, Joseph Schriner - same guy I have voted for in the last 3 elections. www.voteforjoe.com

Didn't promise me anything, seems to work his brain in a similar way that I do, and isn't at the beck and call of the joke of our political system 2 party farce that we now have. The founding fathers didn't imagine this - not saying that they were right about everything - but the endless vilification of 'the other side' wasn't at the heart of politics at that time; the other side was across the ocean.

I would write in Thomas Friedman, the guy who wrote "The World Is Flat". We need an economist to dig us out of this, not a smooth talking politician who wins votes with charisma. If you haven't read that book, you should.

Sorry, Eddie -- Friedman is a journalist, NOT an economist.

You must be thinking of Paul Krugman (Those liberals all look alike.)

I've been to Canada a number of times. Their plan is very different than the plan for the USA known as the Affordable Care Act. I'm just mentioning this in case you want to research the subject further. I agree that political stuff should be left off of this forum and there are hundreds of other forums for political discussions.

I'd say teaching Economics at Brandeis makes him at least a BIT of an authority..... his book was great.

Yes, I have read his book, and it IS great. I didn't mean to impugn Friedman, I read his column all the time. I just wanted to make a joke about liberals "all looking alike."

As far as "teaching economics," Wiki writes: "Friedman taught a class in economics at his alma mater Brandeis University in 2006..." Well, my daughter (a journalist) got a Master's from the London School of Economics, and she's no economist, I promise you. She asked me recently, "Dad, what's an index fund?"

Since you liked "The World is Flat," you may be interested in Fareed's newly revised book, "The Post-American World; Release 2.0".

Hello: I don't know much about the new act that is going to be going into effect. I do know that this may help millions of other people that don't have healthcare. I myself do! But, I know some people that don't have any at all. I will do some research on the Socialized medicine in Canada and the affordable healthcare act. I thank you for your comment. As far as the political comment that I placed here I was under the impression that you could discuss anything that you wanted to. If I was mistaken on my understanding of the forum rules then I apologize to you all that have read this post. Although; since someone like yourself was very diplomatic in letting me know that instead of having a bitter attitude with me; . I will no longer post any other political post on this forum. Thanks for your kindness and diplomatic attitude with me in letting me know this.

Music is an expression that is a universal language, Never criticize anybody to harshly. They need time to grow but when they do, they do. Always be kind in what you say and do because the man upstairs is watching.

We have socialized medical care in the US now. People with insurance have to pay for people who don't have it. Obama care will increase the number of people who must pay to have at least a little insurance. I like that.

Discussions about Politics, sex and arguments about religion should NEVER be allowed.

I received a you-tube linkie today where some guy has morphed ALL the American Presidents faces from the 1st to the latest, and the music is 'Hooked on America' performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

To me THIS is the limit of political discussion on this forum, because it is a-political and a very clever video with nice music

What about posts of Gospel music? That's about religion. I don't like it so I just ignore it. Very easy.

Here's what I just read in Forum Rules, #9:

"All of the forums except for the Off Topic forum are for discussions of PG Music products only. The Off Topic forum is used for MUSIC-RELATED discussions that aren't about PG Music products. Please keep all your posts as constructive as possible."

Obviously, this rule could be subject to some interpretation. I'm a firm believer in civility and helping when I can. I really appreciate all the help that I've personally received on the PG Music Forums. I agree with Mario that it would probably be prudent if we steered away from religious and political discussions. I have seen what has happened on some other music forums even when there have been sections dedicated to such discussions. We have a choice to avoid "insults and hard feelings" simply by refraining from discussing religion and politics. That's just my opinion and I certainly don't consider myself as part of the "forum police". That is the function of the moderators. YMMV

Romney won the popular vote. But Obama won the Election YA!!!!

Obamney, Robama
Who cares who won. It'll be more of the same.

Let me step on my music related soapbox:

Any cat who plays for a living is dammed.

On side A, a trumpet player with fast fingers picks his pocket and gives it to the A&R exec in the booth [who has enough loot to never dirty his hands] in exchange for a promise that he'll get him gigs down the road.

The B-side features the deep sax solo of his split being funneled to the bass player for lessons to learn some new licks when in actuality he is just too lazy to refine his chops.

The B-side was the hit this time around. That'll anger the producers [especially if the A&R dude has to pay a cover charge to see the band] and they'll hire a new audio engineer the next time.

What we need is a NEW studio. One that looks out 4 ordinary cats. You know, the vast majority of us who are not major label honchos or slackers.

Did any of that make sense?

YMMV
