I am planning on buying a BIAB 2013 package with all the styles, or nearly all,
since it is much less costly than buying only the ones I want.

In 2011, I don't believe there is any way to remove or delete files from within
the style picker. Also, styles cannot be moved into a user category.
Is this correct?
Also, have any of these possibilities been added in 2013?

What I would like to do is move the styles I use into my own categories and remove
them from the main list. Also I want to delete the ones I don't use. The main list
then would then eventually become empty. If I added a new set of styles, I would
have only the new ones to look through and sort out.

Or is there another way to organize styles to basically do the same thing?

I don't advise deleting the styles. Check out creating your own custom style list. There is a good explanation HERE. See if that would help.

In the Stylepicker, there is an Edit button that will allow you to easily create a custom style list that will show in the list of styles. It was there in 2011 so you should have it.

Thanks Rachael, I have to look at the LS3 some more. That may help.

I know that you can place styles into your own categories, but they
remain in the main list also. That's the problem. There is no way to
tell, by looking at the main list, if I've already "moved" the style
into my category already, or if I haven't even listened to it yet.
The main list never changes.

Don't delete the styles. You never know when you might want something different, and style files are fairly small, so they don't take a lot of room on your computer.

If you don't want all the PGMusic styles to show up on the Style List, then you can edit the file "BBW.LST". That's where the main information about styles is held. But you should make a backup copy before you start, and you should make a backup copy of your new BBW.LST, because it will get overwritten with each patch and version update.

But if you really don't want to see everything that is available in BBW, then just take it out of the list. But don't delete the .STY files, because gone is gone. You never know what the the future holds musically.

Thanks jford.

If I am seeing things correctly, it appears that styles aren't actually copied
into user categories. Only one copy is in the bb folder (where the styles are
normally stored). The user categories only contain a reference to the actual style.
So you can't really delete them anyway. They also disappear from the user category.
What I was intending to do was delete the style from the main list if I didn't use
it, but also delete a style from the main list if I had it in a user category. In
other words, as if it were moved and not copied (effectively).

I also intend to keep a full set of the styles, for as you said, I might want them
one day. I could just keep them all in a folder and copy one in as I need it, much
like adding new styles (if it's possible to simply do it that way).
That is my current idea, and what I used to do with a much earlier version.

But noting the styles I want to remove and then finding them in the bb folder is
pretty tedious. And finding and/or restoring the styles in the bbw.lst file is even
worse (that thing is huge).

I was hoping for a solution that was similar to moving files around in windows.
