Hola amigos, preguntaros, al abrir un archivo midi ¿se puede hacer que todas las voces entren en distintos canales, porque yo al abrir un midi solo consigo importarlo en la melodia, ya me comentareis, un saludo y salud para todos. Bittor

Hola bittor,
Hay archivos MIDI tipo 0 y el tipo 1.
El tipo-0 tiene todo en uno solo track y el tipo-1 son separados, pero no son "canales" si no "tracks".
Aunque esten en un solo track, los diferentes instrumentos se reportan a diferentes canales MIDI y se oye igual uno tipo-0 que tipo-1.
En BB, hay 8 tracks o algo asi, pero no son tracks que corresponden a como vienen los archivos MIDI, sino que es una separacion propia de BB. En esos tracks pone diferentes instrumentos CUANDO BB ACTIVA UNO DE SUS ESTILOS PROPIOS.
Mientras no actives estilo de BB, TODO el archivo MIDI esta en el track que ELLOS llaman "melodia".
Pero ANTES de activar un estilo a un archivo MIDI, corre File/read chords from midi file para que pase esa separacion.
Aparte, en caso, hay convertidores gratis de MIDI-0 a MIDI-1. Algunos le llaman al zero "1", y al tipo-1 le llaman tipo-2.
Espero sea apropiado lo anterior, aunque lo probable es que falte algo de decir o aclarar.

Bueno, agrego que mi comentario es en base de BB. Pero en RealBand y en PowerTracks es diferente. Hablas de BB, bittor?

Saludos al foro y a Bittor de nuevo, y simplificando lo anterior dicho.
1. No importa el tipo de MIDI file (0, 1 2) BB al abrir un archivo MIDI lo pone TOTO en el track (no "canal") de Melodia. Y de alli lo toca, como cualquier otro programa 'toca-MIDI',
2. Ya asi cargado, uno puede ir a File/get-chords-from-MIDI-file y esa opcion da a uno escojer de cuales CANAL uno quiere extraer para ponerlo en el Track de Melodia. Aqui la palabra Track se refiere a Track (o espacio) de BB en el cual pone la melodia.
3. Al mismo tiempo que pasa lo anterior (extraer melodia, y tambien para el Soloist) BB prepara un arreglo musical consistente de los Tracks llamados Drums, Guitar, Piano, Violin, Melody, Soloist, Bass.
4. Esos nombres de Tracks usando instrumentos no significa que el contenido del arreglo no sea otro instrumento. Puede poner BB en el Track-Piano a un acordeon, o a otro instrumento. Eso depende del estilo. En Drums (tambores) alli si de seguro pone tambores, y tambien en el Track-Bajo.
5. Y ASI es como con BB se puede separar la melodia a Melody.
6. Mucho de esto tiene que ver con entender la terminologia que se usa en BB, y aparte la terminologia de MIDI. Todo esta relacionado, pero a veces no en directo.
Si algo no esta correcto o claro, otros por favor contribuyan, o tratare de hacer lo que pueda en esto.
Yo tengo mi sistemas instalados en Ingles y tal vez no traduzca bien algunos terminos, pues creo que hay BB en Espanol, mas ignoro la traduccion de esa vesion. Disculpen, pues.

Hola Bittor,
Te paso la respuesta del Soport Técnico a lo solicitado a modo de complementar la valiosa colaboración de Nokey:
Cuando se importa un archivo MIDI, éste es ubicado en la Pista de Melodía. Las otras pistas (Bajo, Piano, Batería, Guitarra, y Cuerdas) no pueden ser empleadas por el usuario. Esto se debe a que tales pistas son borradas y re-escritas cada vez que se presiona Play.
Si importas un archivo MIDI, y ahora están presentes la batería, guitarras, etc. todo en la pista de Melodía - puede tornarse confuso cuando Band-in-a-Box también ejecute la batería, guitarras, etc. Si haces click en Melody | Sequencer Window for Multi-channel Melody, (Melodía | Ventana de Secuenciador para Melodía Multi-Canal) puedes allí entonces elegir tocar o silenciar (mute) algunos de estos instrumentos.
A modo de ilustración:
La diferencia entre canales y pistas:
Canales: todos los archivos MIDI contienen 16 channels. Estos especifican qué notas son ejecutadas por tal instrumento. Por ejemplo, la batería es casi siempre ejecutada en el canal 10.
Pistas: las aplicaciones pueden tener distintas pistas a modo de permitir al usuario separar toda la información MIDI. En un secuenciador, por ejemplo, cada canal es ubicado en una pista diferente de tal manera que el usuario pueda ajustar el volumen para cada instrumento individualmente. En Band-in-a-Box, las pistas son: Bajo, Piano, Batería, Guitarra, Cuerdas, Melodía, y Solista.
