I am trying to put the horn section in a song and I keep getting this.....access violation 7C1C0082 at 004045df, what the heck is that..........Thanks.....easy fix please. I have tried reboot, complete shut down etc. Just got the 2013 ultra pak on the 24th. version up365.

Hi Critter.
This is a really speculative suggestion but I seem to have got rid of most of my access violation issues by making sure that the properties of BIAB / RB have the "Run as Administrator" box ticked.
Probably off beam but worth a try.

Where in Biab and RB do you set for administrator, can't seem to find anywhere? It is windows 7. thanks

Hi. Yes it's in windows 7.
If you right click the icon on your desktop and choose properties, click the compatability tab and it's in the bottom left hand corner privilege level - (run this program as an administrator).

Is this on a new blank track, or one in use already?
If in use try consolidating the whole track first, or try on a new blank track.

Just want to clarify the problem a little better.

Specifically which horn section realtrack are you trying to use. I will try to replicate your problem.

I put the horn section in an existing song on a new track, it generated once and plays, when i tried to regenerate, the violation started popping up all the time. I have exited song, and RB, and then started over and the violation is always there, even on different days, after computer shut down, etc. RB will not let me even play song by just hitting play, violation pops up.

can you play other projects with no problem? Or is the project with horns the only one giving the violation?

Can open and play any and all other songs with no problem, just that one......

Went to backup, same thing happens with that file also. Do you think I should reinstall 2013 or just erase the whole Biab, RB and start over with a fresh install from the 2013 hard drive? If I do the complete erase of all files is there any files I should save in some other location?............ Thanks

Hi Critter,
You're not alone . . .
I had the same problem. I hope I catch you in time because I tried several things without a fix. BIAB and RB are installed on my studio computer, so when the problem began, I tried a reinstall, then just running off of my PG hard drive and had the same access violation problem. Other files worked okay, but not the one I had done the horn work too. To fix, grrrrrr, I had to delete the whole song file. Fortunately I had a backup song file on an external drive.
Soon after that grrrrrrrrrrrrrr event, I did some more horn work on another file. I got a similar problem, but was able to fix by deleting the RB.CFG file from the Real Band program files.
I don't know if or when I'll be adding horns to any more song files, but I'll certainly be cautious.
Suggestions:
1. First try deleting the Real Band file: RB.CFG
2. Try running from the PG hard drive . . . if you have one, to confirm what I found.
Here's hoping you find an easy fix.
This may need to be put on the "PG Music fix" list.

Well here we are again, same problem, I am surprised that PG techs have not picked up on this yet. i don't want to erase song due to working overtime on it, but as I said, backup files do the same thing. There has to be a bug somewhere in the program and or the horns are only to be applied to certain styles. I hope the tech support picks up on this.............

What happens if you erase the horn track and 'Save As' another name (then open the new file)?
What happens if you export the horns to wave file (Audio menu) on their own?
Can you open those?
Have you tried highliting the whole track and using 'Track-Consolidate Audio'?
Maybe regeneration of this RT has a quirk.

The song is frozen as far as doing anything, if I try any action, even play, the violation pops up. The same in the back up version. I just tried to add anything to any song in my playlist just to double check things, and if I right click on any open track on any song the box goes red as normal but the same violation comes up every time, I think I need to erase all, and reload from 2013 hard drive, what do you think?? The only thing that scares me is the aria JABB program which for me ended up being put in by Kent at PG. I hope I can just reinstall...........
