I have this empty gray box on the page. I get these now and again but have been able to removed them by "undo" button. However I didnt "undo" this time and now lost the chord in that bar. Is there a way of making that box playable again and to regain that needed bar back in my song?

there is a setting that forces a new line when you add a new um... colored thing...(you know... the markers that are either green or blue, which trigger a change in stye) to the chord sheet  naturally, I can't remember where it is or how to change it, but the answer to your question is YES BRAIN-DEAD-TODAY-O-METER 0_________________/_100 note to self: don't reply to questions when you can't remember what those dang colored things are called

My brain is going dead, I've been at this all day! Where has the day gone???
I need to watch all those youtube videos and BIAB videos but I just wanted to get my hands dirty first and have a bit of fun. I'm getting there but as you know its a really complex programs for someone who has never used it before.

Done it. I simply toggled off/on the blue box representing a chorus change [A] and problem sorted.

Is it possible you reduced the number of choruses? Or had a Tag and then removed it?

Can someone tell me exactly why these empty gray bars appear? They're not exactly empty bars, because no music is missing, it just skips over them. This is the only thread I found on this topic. Does it have anything to do with opening very old BIAB files with newer versions of the program? I had a big block of them and erased them by doing the toggle off on the substyle change.

There is a setting in preferences for this to happen. You can turn it on or off. Some folks like to see the break with each section change. If you don't then turn off the setting.

Jazzmandan is correct. Go to Preferences, Display. Uncheck the box near the bottom that forces a new line each part marker.

Also un-check the "new line every chorus" box in Song Settings. It's to the right of the title bar. Ray
