Hey fellers,
I need a little help on how best to upgrade.
I'm upgrading from 2011.5 to 2013 The upgrade pak to bring me up to urrent on all parts is the $159.with all 187 real tracks.
I have all the earlier RT's and I know that there has been a lot of improvements in the sizes of RT's from the earlier tracks. So my question is, should I uninstall all of my 2011.5 with all the RT's and do a clean install of the 2013 or just a regular install and let BIAB work it out?
Won't a clean install save space and upgrade earlier RT's and be better or not?
Thanks Wyndham

Wyndham, excellent question for the Sales Department. They are awesome to deal with. One caveat, they all tend to speak Canadian. With a left coast accent, no less, eh? Google Translator is absolutely no help!

Don is right, call PG Music Sales. I think I know the answer here, but it all depends on remembering what version 2011.5 was, and I'm not willing to guess.

One thing you will want to know is, did you have any Bonus Paks? If so, you will want to reinstall them if you do a clean install.

Well I asked on person on live chat and they were not sure how to answer so I thought I'd check out what the forum folks had to say.
No bonus paks just rt's from number one to 2011.5 and the styles that have come along with the program.
I just remember the early RT's took up more room than the later ones and want to start using some of the new midi super stuff.
Thanks Wyndham

OK. Here is what I "think" the answer is. Does version 2011.5 still have the button in the Options, Preferences, RealTracks dialog box to erase the +- tracks? If so, you could do that, since those are the 'extra' tracks no longer needed with the elastique algorithm now used. Deleting those will save you 2/3 of your total size for RealTracks. Then install 2013 right over your existing program. That should update any older RealTracks and give you the new ones, plus the SuperTracks etc. that are new.

But I really wish someone from PG Music would confirm that advice before you do it. If Sales doesn't know, then Support should.

Thanks Matt, I'll check tonight and get in touch with support if needed.

Still need to order the 2013 pkg but have a few more days with the extended offer.

I have BIAB 2012.5 but am having some issues that I think may be corrupted files in the TC Helicon. If I were to get 2013 would it automatically replace those files or would I just be compounding the problem. Should I do a clean install of 2012.5 first or doesn't it matter? Any ideas?
