There's a huge advantage to sending midi data to the VST slots. Preferably with a check box to let the user decide.
First, some plugins respond to midi control commands and could be automated. This would be nice.
Second, and more importantly, we could then put a midi redirector on a slot to send midi data to our hardware synths, harmonizers and vocal processors. There are many users I think who would support this addition.
Finally, in the future this architecture would provide a place for PGM to accept audio back in so our hardware synths could be used with FX. You'd neeed to send midi out on one slot and bring audio in from the next slot.
I really hope PGM could do this for us. Please show your support if you'd like this.
