It should be simple to create a track verse, copy it, paste to the end for a second verse, but where it stitches together to end verse 1 and begin verse 2 there is always a timing problem. I spent hours trying to create a 5 or 6 verse song just by copy and paste method.
There must be some short cuts I am missing. Anybody know what I am doing, 'cause I don't.
I know the beat line above the tracks, in 4/4 time/ is divided into bars / beats / then what? Parts of a beat? If so, what is the range maximum?

Try using the BARS window.
Click and drag the mouse over any number of bars and tracks to highlight a section and then copy and paste. This method always works with whole bars and so it helps to eliminate timing errors. It also works with a mix of MIDI and audio tracks.

In tracks view just engage the "SNAP" button.Now you'll get exact copies and the pastes will go in the right spot as well.

The edit window is your friend. Once you have highlighted your section you want to copy blow up the edit window for each track. Reason being some instruments start before the actual bar starts. When you find one of your rt's does this, zoom in and place your cursor at the zero crossing point. Note where your cursor position is on the current box. Type this number in the "from" box. Move to the end of your section, repeat and type this number in the "to" box. Now your section will be highlighted with your best and most exact starting and ending points. Copy and paste to the desired track using your starting point. For example, if your starting point is 12 - 4 - 119 and you are pasting to bar 32, then you'll paste at 32 - 4 - 119 for that track section.
There are other ways to do it mentioned above, but this way you will get cleaner edits.
