I hope Scott, (aka rockstar_not), hasn’t “flown the coop”.

He hasn’t posted since 1/06/13 and that was right after some members were questioning why he was on “our” forum since he doesn’t use any of the current PG products.

Dunno ‘bout you guys, but I think Scott’s contributions to the forum were good and I hope he wasn’t made to feel unwelcome here. It would be our loss if he was.

Dunno, but he's alive and well -- he posted today on KVR. At least, I presume he's the user rockstar_not whose pages are here and here. Ya want I should PM him?

He's doing FAWM so his presence might be limited this month.

I considered that Kevin, but since Tom's mentioned Scott's post's on other forums, ... it does make me wonder about Scott's silence on here.

I thought it was totally uncalled for when Scott was taken to task simply because his comments weren't ready for "copying and pasting" to a PG magazine or web ad. But he was taken to task and even questioned about his participation here. (There are one or two on the forum that think our comments on the forums are meant to be suitable for advertising PG products. Needless to say, ...I'm not one of them).

That was the reason I was wondering.

I will agree with you Bob that some of the recent comments here might have made Scott feel "less than welcome". It is a shame, he always had good ideas.

I should chime in here since I'm the person you're referring to. Except for a brief mention on the forum, most of the discussion between me and Scott was handled privately, which is how this should have been handled, unless your intent is to whack a hornet's nest. (But, what wise person would do that? )

Scott did not want this to be a public discussion, and I honored his wishes by taking it private. If you force this into a public spectacle by making accusations I have to answer, the result will be more offensive to Scott than the current situation.

You have a PM. Let's not discuss this openly.

I can't speak for the current situation, but I have seen on enough occasions where the forums have made people feel less than welcome. Yes there are MANY MANY more posts helping people. To me it's 99% great! But that 1% can really put some people off. I think it's simply not needed.

Pat-I don't know you at all, and I haven't read whatever you or anyone else is referring to, but I don't think this post was meant to slam you in any way. I think it was concern about Scott (who I also don't know) possibly leaving the forum.

Hopefully, if Scott was active here, he will be back!

Just for the record, I believe it was Peter Gannon who said that anyone who wanted to criticize his software ought at least to be using it.

I don't think anyone had any issue with Scott's posts about recording in general.

It was and I agree.I certainly welcome Scott's advice in the off topic however do not welcome the criticism on this Forum of products he has not used for quite some time.At this point it doesn't matter if he used them in the past. He no longer does.

If will will ease any minds out there,I don't think there is any problem with Scott being offended. He is just very busy right now with writing for a competition. I had contacted him after he posted about doing some vocals on some of my songs and the explaination that I got from him was to the effect that he had a pretty "full plate" right now because of his involvment in this competion.
Sometimes I find it very hard to find time to attend to my writing and keeping in touch on these forums also so I can understand how one might be absent from the forum at times when other business takes precedence for awhie.

Had a long response prepared, but it would kill the whole purpose of trying to keep out of someone else's business. PM me if you like. I'm very busy, writing 14 songs in February, learning a new electric guitar, etc.

I'll be sending hopefully some new customers this way from the February Album Writing Month challenge. Thank you for the kind words.

You’ve been missed Scott.

Hopefully after FAWM you’ll have time to contribute again. Good luck on your songs.
