I don't normally like posting about other products. However in this case I'll make an exception. I've been suffering from arthritis in my fingers for years. Sometimes of course painkillers don't help and if you're out gigging, you don't want to be driving with a gutful of drugs. A friend of mine in Ontario brought me over a tub of aroma therapy gardeners dream cream. It's brilliant. No chemicals, and it certainly works for me. I've been near to the point of tears some nights and was delighted when I tried it the first night. Pain relief wasn't instant but after an hour or so no pain ! I'm sure others on the forum must be at their wits end at times. Hope admin don't mind me posting this, but hopefully it'll help other musicians

Yeah Don, many's a night I could have done with it when I was gigging for a living. For the last two-3 years my fingers would sometimes ' freeze ' On hindsight I know I should've gone to my doc who said he could've prevented it wit a simple op

Graham, I have a friend whose hands were twisted with arthritis. She was recommended "Elmore Oil". After using it for a little while, pain disappeared and her hands became usable once more. I couldn't believe the before-and-after change in how her hands looked. I'll make a note of this cream, too, now Thank you for passing the information along. Noel

Thanks Noel, had a look & the Elmore oil isn't easily available here. Quite pricey too which is a shame. It's a disgrace that the government won't do more for sufferers of arthritis. Yeah we can get free drugs from the doc, but we don't want to be taking drugs 24/7

I have found a couple of things that help my arthritis. I stay away from large amounts of red meat and dairy products, as they are triggers for me. I can still have a steak once in a while but I can not have red meat on a daily basis. That’s the same with dairy products a couple of glasses of milk a day are all I can handle. I also take Glucosamine Complex and Chondroitin Sulfate tablets daily: https://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-...00-mg-120-sgelsAlthough these work well for me they did not work for my brother-in-law. However he found that MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane) worked for him: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-ultra-msm-1500-mg-120-tabsNote that both of these are inexpensive and readily available, at least in this part of the wood. Of course the more exercise you can do the better it is. Good luck and I hope this helps. Ps – I should add that when I have severe arthritis my doctor put me on high doses of ibuprofen. That not only helped my arthritis but it raised by blood pressure sky high. Then he wanted to put me on blood pressure meds also. I fought with him and went off ibuprofen and my blood pressure went back to normal. That was when I found these alternatives to meds that worked for me. I have since changed doctors!
The bumper sticker said "I'm a veterinarian, therefore I can drive like an animal". Suddenly I realized how many proctologists are on the road.

My experience is much the same as Mario.
I'm allergic to dairy products, which is apparently the most common trigger for arthritis. If I keep away from cheese, butter, cream and full-fat milk I have no problem whatever. I strongly recommend anyone who suffers from arthritis to try giving up all dairy products for at least two weeks to see if it makes a difference.
I'm largely vegetarian, so I can't comment on the red meat.
ROG.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy. It cured the arthritis on an injured finger, the 'trigger finger' in my mouse finger, the bursitis in my hip, and 100% pain free now. Plus I am no longer buying Glucosamine, SAMe, Chondroitin, and MSM. The device is $600, but it paid for itself in a few months. Bonus - my eyesight actually got quite a bit better, and my mental acuity sharpened The science is here: http://pemft.info/science.html including a few of the over 10,000 peer-reviewed publications in the US National Institute of Health The current device comparisons are here - I got the editor's pick at the top of the page http://pemft.info/compare.htmlIt works, and it's non invasive. Gee maybe I don't need to put the little finger on the stump and whack the end off with the axe. But now it's mostly bend over the 4th finger and sits on top. After it blew up and the end knuckle it doesn't hurt as much now.
I don't know why I'm hanging with all the old crippled dudes. I used to look like Burt Reynolds, but he's aged!
I put blue cheese on top of my porterhouse and have red wine with it. After 3 glasses the fingers don't hurt much. So I do it again. 3 steaks a day, and 9 glasses of wine, I sleep like a baby. The best part is the charred stuff around the edge. I save some for a snack unless the dog grabs it.
At one point they put me on a diet. Pumped in some other stuff that was supposed to make me fat. Ate hours a day watching the pump run..ffft fffft ffft But now 3 years later and I've fattened right up!
