I'm going to be playing music for the annual Rumble for Relay. It's a Relay for Life fund raiser that benefits the American Cancer Society.Very dear to my heart. On a side note there's also going to be a full band.I'm bringing the big guns, dual 15" two way tops & dual 15" subs with 3 KW power, to this event, and with a little luck RealBand and I are going to kick butt.

Good show, John. Break the proverbial leg. More information, please. When and where? Is there a cover or donation expected?

Edited to add: You beat me to it. I just checked my e-mail and you had already sent a link to the poster. You may want to share with the rest of the community, too. -R.

Have a great gig, John.

If I lived just that bit closer, I'd be there to watch!

So how did it go? GREAT!
A lesson to be learned for everyone here.
If you remember there was also a 4 piece band that was going to play. The organizers told me the crowd wanted Country,Southern rock & light Rock. This was also told to the other band and they accepted.I played first and the pavilion was packed and folks loved what i did. When done the other band started and played HARD, LOUD rock. In less then 15 minutes the pavilion was empty. The organizers came to me and expressed the fact that they wished I was staying and not them and that next year I would do the event exclusively. They could have cared less that I was using Real Band. All they knew is that I played what they wanted and played it well.

I hate that I didn't make it to hear you John... the cold weather right up to the day you played spooked me. But I'm glad you hit the ball out of the park.

Conversation on the forum here has often bemoaned the the way DJs, open mic and karaoke seem to have undermined opportunities for playing live music. But I think all of those things have changed peoples expectations for live music. They don't want deafening live bands anymore. What you do is much more controlled and much better sounding that the average live band.

Guys, its up to each of us in our communities to help change the way the public prefers to hear live entertainment. John's doin' his part, and quite well I'd say.

Good Job! I'll be around some time this summer to hear one of your gigs.. please keep me posted on dates.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I have to tell you though that one of the signs of getting old is when you update Firefox browser and for some reason it switches to "offline" mode and it takes 3 days to realize your reading the same pages over & over. LOL. It only came to light when MF had the same "Stupid Deal of the Day"for 3 days running.
