Hello. I read in the old post that the easiest way to create the specific bass line is to use soloist or melodist feature.
So I would like to do that. But I can't find anywhere in the manual how to create a solo part from scratch. I don't have a midi keyboard, so I need to work on the notation mode. Can I do that and how??? Can someone please help me?
Thank you very much!

Hi jazzutako,

Welcome to the forums

If you go to the below link ...

http://www.pgmusic.com/videos.bbwin.htm

... scroll down a bit and look for "Video Archives", you'll find a video within this section called "Soloist and Melodist Tutorial". This will teach you how to use these two tools. They are for creating midi-based solos and melodies.

Once you understand how to create melodies using these, all you need to do is to make your own melody and then transfer the midi file to the Bass track and then select a suitable midi sound.

Hope this helps,
Noel

Thank you Noel96.
Those tutorial videos are certainly very helpful for each feature.

I watched and learned how to use the Soloist feature, however I don't want to use the pre-made bass solo, but I want to create my own.
I want to put specific bass line at the beginning and the ending.

I can change a little bit of the pre-existing bass line on the notation mode easily, but to change the whole lot is just too much.

Is there any way to get empty bass soloist track on notation mode?

Does anyone know? Please help!

Perhaps an easier way is to mute the bass track at the beginning and the ending using F5, enter your solo on either the Melody or Soloist track, and change that track's patch (sound) to bass.

Otherwise, if you edit the existing bass track, you must Freeze it, or else it will be overwritten when you regenerate the song. The Melody and Soloist tracks are not regenerated.

You can also copy the bass track to the Melody or Soloist track, where you can edit without freezing, and then Mute the bass track entirely.

But I would do it the first way, above.

Hello, Matt. Thank you very much for reply.

That's exactly what happened. After regenerated, I lost all of my hard work..........
That's why I wanted to make the specific bass line using soloist track.

Well, I've just solved my problem!

The thing is...
I didn't know how I can make the empty soloist track to the bass track on notation mode, and I was struggling putting the low notes in the bass clef.
All the higher notes went to the treble clef, if you know what I mean.

But I tried some setting changes in the option dialogue, and voila!

I am so happy!
This is really great!

Thank you guys!
