Hi, My Real Band now looks like this and I tried to use it anyway, generated a real track and it only added one measure. Seems I can't get it to work anymore. How do I fix this? Thank You Uploaded with ImageShack.us

FrankP:
You have just (possibly) inadvertently opened a window or 2 that you don't need or want at the moment.
- First, maximize the window, that is in the very top RH corner of the window. Next to the "X" close button, click on the small square button (sorry if this is basic but I don't know how well you know Windows)
- You should now be able to see the entire RB window, with all of the scroll bars and close buttons (which are missing in your screen shot)
- The window you have open is called the "Bars" window. Simply close it by clicking on the "X" in the top RH corner.
- At the bottom of the window, there should be a set of mini-bars. One of them should say "Tracks". I assume that's the one you're looking for. Simply click on the "restore" icon on that bar or...
- If you don't see that mini bar, go to the very top of the RB window, click on the "Window" dropdown and select "Tracks"
If that doesn't put things back the way you expect, let us know and we'll add more info.
Good luck! LLOYD S

I thought you had to pay extra for the mini-bar. In all seriousness, I think Lloyd hit the nail on the head. The Bars view is the legacy view from before the interface was changed. There are actually some things that can be done more easily from the bars view than the tracks view, so folks still use it, even though it has a somewhat dated appearance. You can also go to the menu and select "Window, Tracks" to select the Tracks view.

Hi Frank. 500 Miles High, great tune one of my favs.
No need to open any other menus. In your picture look at your second row of icons on the left and see the 3 icons: T, B and C7. Just click the T. Those should always in view regardless of what other Windows are open below them.
Once you've figured that out go back to that Bars Window because that is very useful for cutting, pasting or deleting whole sections of your song. Horizontally those little squares are bars and vertically each line is a track either midi or like the ones in the middle of your pic that are waveforms, audio. Put your mouse on the top line at whatever bar you want to cut or copy and then hold down the left mouse button and drag it across and down to whatever bar you want to end at. Then do a Ctl C or if you want to delete it then hit your Delete key. That will open the copy window and just follow the instructions there.
You may want to extend the solo section for example by 16 bars so just highlight and copy 16 bars and then put the mouse on the bar you want to insert them and hit Ctl V to paste. Very fast and easy. Much faster than the time it took me to write this.

Try selecting "New" and setting up the display to how you want it to look when you open a song file. You can have the Main Tracks displayed on top, but also you can set up other windows to your own requirements, eg Mixer default setting to show say 20 tracks plus 4 Group tracks. When satisfied, save the file as $Options.seq in the RB Root Directory and this file will, be loaded each time you open RB and each file.
