My site of choice for the past several years has been indabamusic.com, which has great networking. I just discovered that they recently launched a beta version which has the "minor" shortcoming of not being able to upload my own music. (FTW??? I'm seriously glad I didn't renew my premium membership.) They are not giving an estimate of when this capability will return.
So, is there an all-around best site from which to share (stream)/promote/sell one's own music? If not, which combination do you recommend? Thanks in advance for your input.

If you have a little $$ to invest, CDBaby got our music in a lot of places a few years ago.
Hosted samples, got the content for sale in numerous places online. That's if you are looking for help selling.
If you are looking for a free sharing site, many are using soundcloud with various degrees of satisfaction.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

You might have a look at Coffeecup. You buy the "Visual Site Designer", which lets you construct a website without messing with HTML, and the "Jukebox" which lets you stream your music. Very reasonable software, and they also have hosting for cheap (one plan is free). http://www.coffeecup.com/Regards, Bob

I was just getting ready to plop down some cash for a different site that lacks streaming.. this would suit my needs better, and it didn't show up in any of my searches for web hosting You're quite welcome. They have a hosting system called "S Drive", which allows you to upload or make changes to your site directly from VSD with one click. In addition, their customer service (and forum) is very good.
