I've been considering buying an interesting harmony plugin from zplane, which is the company that pg music licenses technology to pitch shift the RealTracks. I'll post some information here in case anyone is interested.

The zplane vsti is called Vielklang. Vielklang 2 can to up to 4-part harmony in several different modes and sells for $149.
It actually loads as a VSTi not a VST effect.

Here is some info and a couple of YouTube videos:

Has anyone here used this plugin?

Hi John,

I’m sorry it has taken me so long to answer; my mother passed and it’s been a very hectic week!

I have Vielklang. It does a fairly good job with the harmonies. IMO it is better than the TC Helicon that comes with BiaB but I am sure it is not as good as some of the more expensive ones. You have more options with this than you do in BiaB such as close or open harmonies.

I have only used this a couple of times but I did get usable results with it. It is worth the money IMHO.

OK, a random thought;

I'm very sorry to hear about your mother. My sympathies.

Curious, which version of Vielklang do you have. 1 or 2?

Thanks for the info.

Thanx John.

I have version 1.5.5. I’ll have to check on the update!

So sorry to hear that, Mario.

The bond between mother and son is an especially strong and beautiful one. Take time to mourn and grieve. It's a necessary part of the healing process and can't/won't be rushed. Everyone recovers at a different pace (tempo) so don't let others try to hurry you to a closure. It's your heart; who could know it better?

Sorry to hear about your Mother.

I played around with this plug in the first version and while it has promise the overall vocal quality was not that great. It appears that version 2 has come a long way. I have downloaded the demo but have not had time to play with it much yet. If it compares to the TC Helicon hardware and is easier to implement it is definitely worth the money.

I have a VL2 which is TC's state of the art machine for vocals. It can be dialed in to create pretty good harmonies but it has been a nightmare to try and get to integrate with my DAW (Sonar).

Definitely worth a look at least the demo. This would be a great add for Realtracks or BIAB if they could do it kind of like the TC Helicon version was implemented.

Thanks,

Terry

Terry:

I'm also considering one of the tc helicon boxes. I also have Sonar. What about Sonar integration with VL2 have you found difficult?

I'd appreciate hearing if you think Vielklang 2 is better than Ver. 1.

Thanks.

John
