Last week, I was getting "Access Violation" when I tried to record a track on a RB tune that I had created on BIAB. Rob from PG Music suggested that I delete RealBand.ini and RB.CFG and uninstall then reinstall my Line 6 UX2 drivers. I deleted the RB files then I updated my Line 6 UX2 drivers. This fixed the recording Access Violation issue. However, now when I playback any of my RealBand tunes, I'm getting this very loud distortion/buzzing right from the beginning of the count off of the track. I reinstalled the 2 RealBand files that I had previously deleted---No change. BIAB is working fine. The issue is only with RB. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, RA

man, I had that happen.... not in a while though.... I can't remember what I did to cause it or correct it.
I think ...... trying to remember here.... I think I had tried to install it on my hard drive and have the samples on the factory drive....and when I tried to load a project that was previously saved on one..... and open it on the other I got that horrible distortion. Both versions were the same, but one gave that distortion.
To be 100% sure I'd have to go back and play around a bit.
Do you have it installed in 2 places? If so, try running it from the "other" location.

Thanks guitarhacker. Fortunately, I had a previously tune that I had created on BIAB and finished on RB stored on my ext. hard drive. I opened it from there using RB. Even though it seemed to play, I wasn't getting any sound at all. I checked to make sure everything was turned up and plugged in----still no sound. Not sure what's going on with my RB program. Just about ready to toss the software, comp. and the UX2 out the second floor window. Any other thoughts? Thanks, RA

Do you use a third party DAW?
I tend to only use BB to write the song. Picking my style and tempo and key in BB.
I close the project and save it....then I open it in RB to render the tracks. There are many times where I do not even hit play in Real Band. I simply use it to render the tracks.
I then export the tracks one by one to a folder on my desktop and import them into the DAW I use which happens to be Sonar. Since they are exported as waves, they will play fine in Sonar.

That procedure sounds like the way to go. Thanks. I do have Sonar on my machine but have been using RB only because I am more familiar with it. With regard to my RB issues, under the advise of a PG Music rep, I again uninstalled my Line 6 UX2 drivers, then reinstalled them, restarted my comp the brought up RB. Tried to play a few of my tunes to experience the same problems----LOUD BUZZING/DISTORTION. Sent another email to PG Rep. Will keep you poeted. Thanks greatly for your help. RA

Not knocking BB/RB because it does what nothing else will do, but the DAW functions in RB to me are not as advanced and easy to use as Sonar is.
Of course, I was already familiar with Sonar before I got RB so I stuck with the one I knew extremely well.
And Sonar is designed to be a DAW and only a DAW.

Thanks. I appreciate that info. Here's we I am currently with my RB problem:
Under the advice of another PG Music rep. who assured me the problem was my audio drivers, I once again did an uninstall/install of my Line 6 UX2 Drivers, shut down RB and restarted my comp, opened RB and tried to play a tune—same problems. After about one hour, I tried it again and everything worked fine. Can’t really explain that and I guess I shouldn’t try. Thanks again to all. Deeply appreciate your help. RA

I have the same problem with a different DAW Cubase SX and I too have the Line 6 UX2. The weird thing is it only happens on certain songs and if I move them to a different location on my hard drive the noise sometimes goes away! Maybe the suggestions on the Line 6 forum may help you HERE I tried the suggestions but nothing seemed to work altho the noise occurs less these days. If you get successful please post what you did as I will also. Frustrating init!! Alyn
