Since I'm a bassplayer I have to comment on the funk bass parts.If I played like that on a gig I'd be surprized if I got a second call.Way too busy.Check out Marcus Miller or Will Lee to see how sparse you can be and make the groove happen.As they are those bass parts are not really useable. Another thing is that often when the drums come out of a fill, there seems to be a slight delay before the tempo continues. I also play Bass and Guitar reasonably well, but I find the Real Tracks do such a great job, that I only play it myself if I need a certain riff. Some of the RT's play things that I might not think of myself, and give me a chance to quickly see what might work. I've mixed styles between verse and chorus, ie Pop Bass in the Verse and Metal Bass in the chorus. Although this is a little more work, the results are worth it. I do my audio work in Samplitude (Power Tracks would probably also work for this), and I will take RT's and cut parts out, move things around, repeat phrases I like, change levels, etc. The extra work gives me results that are going to be a little different than what everyone else is doing. I agree that some of the RT's are a little limited as they are, but if they were perfect, we'd all sound the same, because nobody would bother to change anything. I think there is an option to simplify some parts, but I like to be able to choose where the complexity is going to be. All that to say that Real Tracks have absolutely revolutionized and given life to my recordings. Get it. You'll still have to work for the best results, but you won't be disappointed. These demos were produced directly from Band-in-a-Box. Just chose the style, typed the chord progression, pressed PLAY. Then pressed the WAV button to render them to a WMA file. No editing/tweaking/processing of the files was done. From start to finish, took about 10 minutes per demo, most of that time is typing the chord progression. BTW, there are more demos here: http://www.pgmusic.com/#mp1 You click on the RealTracks set that you want to listen to, and the demo displays in the video window. They are easier to use, since they areembedded videos. These are medleys, that were just regular demos, strung together inside Windows Movie Maker to make the WMV video file. Have Fun!
