I have upgraded to the Ultra Paks for years. I now therefore have the 2013 Ultra Pak.

With just a brief glance (no time to study the paks carefully yet), it looks like buying the Plus Pak for 2014 might give me all the same functionality as the Ultra Plus Pak, except not on the hard drive.

In other words, I already have most of what is on the 2014 Ultra Pak (since it is also on the 2013 Ultra Pak which I own), and the Plus Pak would update the program to 2014 and add all the new Realtracks, MIDI Super tracks, styles, Artist Performance Series, etc.

Is that correct? Or would I receive additional software (not just the HDD) by purchasing the Ultra Pak again?

Thank you.

That sounds correct Maiki and how I understand it. Why not use LiveHelp (under the Support link at the top of the page) and ask them directly?

Regards,
Noel

Why not use LiveHelp? I guess i could, but it is offline now, and not really live.

Also, PG employees regularly contribute to these forums (which I appreciate), so could answer it here, which might help others as well as me.

Does anyone reading know of anything an UltraPak 2013 owner would gain by buying the Ultrapak 2014 upgrade for $140 rather than the Plus Upgrade 2014 for $100, other than the hard drive?

Maiki,

The PG Music staff don't always keep track of these forums. Peter Gannon has been popping in a little more often than usual lately to answer some of the more difficult questions.

I suspect if you wait for a forum answer to your question by PG Music staff, you might or might not be lucky.

Noel

We are only users here. Only a user with the same circumstances as you, and who has already ordered, could answer this for certain. I suggest you follow Noel's advice to contact PG Music for the answer.

Actually, when I look at the list of top posters of the last 30 days here, the 3rd most frequent poster (after Mac, and you, Matt Finley) is Peter Gannon. (I think that is great by the way, that the CEO of a software company participates frequently in the user forums about that software.)

I have seen many questions on this forum about the upgrade packages, which were answered by PG Music

True. Like Noel said, you might get lucky.

Hello from Italy

Maybe I can help you... purchased and downloaded the plus pack some days ago, upgrading from my 2013 ultraplus pack, and all the files you mentioned were here... so don't worry and buy with confidence! If you don't need another USB HD, the plus pack is the right thing for you

Antonello

Thanks for the info, Doctormidi.

I actually e-mailed the question last night too, to support@pgmusic.com.

The response I received today is only a generic auto-response saying they are working on the problem, and suggested that I look at the FAQs on their web site, etc.

As it really should be a simple question for any employee there familiar with their upgrade choices, one might have expected a simple quick reply to the question. If I get a real response to the question from them, I will post it here.

I think you are likely correct though, as someone else posted, it looks that way. (I just wondered if there is something I missed in looking at the paks, that I would end up missing with the Plus Upgrade.

It sounds though, like you, who like me already had Ultra-Pak 2013, think that by upgrading to 2014 Plus Pak for $99, you now have all the same software as if you had upgraded to the 2014 Ultra Pak for $139, only missing the HDD, correct?

))) yes, a Plus Pak upgrade would get you the identical material as a hard drive would, given that you already have the 2013 Ultra Pak.

Have Fun!

maiki,

For future reference, my experience is that it's better to email sales@pgmusic.com for product questions and support@pgmusic.com for technical assistance.

Glad you've got the information you've looking for. Seems like go you lucky and Peter Gannon saw your post!

All the best,
Noel

P.S. Version 2014 is excellent. I'm loving it smile
