Just getting started with this. I bought the Vocal Suite Nectar 2 with a couple others. I have these new plugins installed. So I want to test Nectar 2 out. Anyway I imported a nice christmas tune Karaoke Marshmallow World to to fill you in...that was on track one. I recorded my vocals on Track 2. But now track 2 has the karaoke track on it also. I am trying to think why that is. The output of my PC is coming into my external Sound Mixer. I am wearing my headphones so the mic isn't hearing it.
I will keep thinking on this. Let me know how do I stop the music track from being recorded onto my audio track. I will go back and mess around with this to see if I can figure it out.

I'm a little confused. What do you mean Track 1 and Track 2? Are you working in Realband? I ask this because BIAB only has a single audio track.

Is the karaoke track a MIDI file? It might be multichannel. Not at a PC now, but do we still have the green SEQ button in version 2014? And are we talking BIAB here or RealBand?

Matt, The SEQ button is now in the "Tools" menu group.  I mention this in case others are looking for it. Regards, Noel

I imported an Mp3 karaoke into RealBand. That is on Track 1. Then I start recording on Track 2. But now Track 2 has both the Karaoke Track recorded on it and also my vocals. But I of course want them separate.

SR, the problem is most likely you are using a feature in the sound card/interface that records what it hears playing. Tell us what kind of sound card you have and we can help better

I didn't know about the RealBand forum. I will check that out next time. Maybe in a few minutes. My sound card is just on the motherboard. Realtek driver used for it. I thought earlier maybe I have it on Stereo Mix. But it isn't on Stereo Mix. I do have my Yamaha mixer I use. The output goes to the input of my pc sound on the motherboard. Then the output on my pc is going to the mixer.

Sly i used to use a Yamaha mixer before i bought my Presonus Audiobox. If I remember correctly you need to take the output of the sound card and send it to a stereo input on the mixer, the patch the group output of the mixer to the input on the sound card. That way if you want to send a track to record like a vocal or guitar you press the group out button on that channel only and it goes to the computer, and the rest go to stereo mix to the main out or headphone out.
