Hi,
I recently had to install a new harddrive and reinstall XP and all my programs including BIAB.
I have a large song collection and when I try to get the program to scan the songs it will go for about 2000 songs and the XP shuts down.
Fortunately I have BIAB finder and I have no problems with it.
Band in a Box seems to open every file as it scans, should it be doing that?
I have 2 gig ram and a high end graphics card so that should make everything work fine.
I do have Bandstand installed as a VST.Could that be the cause of the crash?

There was a recent patch fixing a bug of the SongPicker, which caused BiaB to freeze beyond some number of scanned songs. This particular bug didn't crash the computer, though. Yet, making sure to run the latest patch couldn't harm.

I'm up to patch 265 which is I think the latest that I can use without upgrading to 2009.

OK, Just to let everybody know who might be interested:
Bandstand seems to be the problem.With Bandstand active I can build a songlist up to about 500 songs.After that XP crashes.
When I uncheck use DXI I can scan the folder and after that I can reactivate Bandstand.That works. Or I can use BIAB Finder.No Problem there.
What the reason for this is,I don't know.Maybe Bandstands overloads RAM with all the patches as the tunes scan??? Strange.
