I've selected some SampleTank presets, but when I save my sequence file and then restart, I notice that the SampleTank screen has reset to a clean screen - with no instruments selected. How do I cause SampleTank to remember which instruments were selected for a given song?
PT/RB won't save internal SampleTank settings (instruments, filters, EQ, reverb, etc. ), unless I totally don’t know how to use PT and have been doing it the hard way all this time (which is always possible).
BUT SampleTank does have its OWN save and will save the instruments, levels, etc. as a "preset" once you have a instrument set the way you like it or if you have to leave the work - SAVE it as draft (e.g., "song name draft x")
Not perfect, because you have to call up the VSTi config for each song but it works. So I would suggest you name the ST preset to match the working song title and don't forgot version(s) (Song " E.Rigby v89", etc.)

RB used to save the Sampletank settings per song a few versions ago (2010 or 2011 maybe?). But something changed with one of the new versions of RB and that ability went away. The workaround described by Larry is the only alternative.
Seems I remember using 'Save Group' made the process a step simpler, but would need someone else to verify.
If you Save Group, does it save the ST settings when loaded? If so it would save a step; just click DXi button and then load group, instead of DXi button, load synth, load preset ..

Yes I had a minor problem with SampleTank. The 2014 version or BIAB/RB must have overwritten something because I was requested to re-register SampleTank once again. Also I noticed that the SampleTank patches were no longer saved in a Song file. However, I reopened SampleTank and reloaded the ST setup for the song which I had saved previously for security purposes and then re-saved the song file. It now works correctly with ST loading automatically with the correct patches.
