I have just set up BIAB just like it says in the 2009 new bits video when I try the Melody Wizard I dont get passing notes to play.
Can some one explain in a point by point way exactly what to do,, I followed the video to the letter and there is NO CHANGES at all.
Help !!!!!!

Hi ukeman, This is how I get BIAB to create a melody using the Melody Wizard... - open a style, enter a chord progression
- click on the blue M (Melodist)
- since I have already put in a chord sequence, I un-check "Generate Chords", "Generate Intro" and "Generate Bass Pedals"
- I also uncheck "Allow Style Change"
- leave "Generate Melody" checked or else you will not get a melody
- for the "Form" option, I select "No Form"
- click OK

Hello Noel,
Thank you for your reply. Its not what I require. I have been doing that for years.
Have a look at the 2009 new features video at 6.26. thats the bit I want to do.
When I set it up like the video says it does not work can any one else get it to work?

Hi Gerry,
Much better instructions are given on page 29 on the BIAB 2009 Upgrade Manual PDF file.
What had me flumoxed for a bit was that the Keyboard Wizard (which needs to be switched on) is not to the right of the song title (where Help says it is and the video indicates to find it). As far as I can tell, it's now called "Wizard PlayAlong Feature" and is located in "Play" on the upper menu. Once I discovered this and activated it, I followed the manual and the melody enhancement worked.

Hello Noel
I have done all that from page 29
When I press the T key I can hear notes
when I play QWER UIOP I can hear notes
in fact when I press ANY Key A-Z I can hear notes
I cannot hear the approach notes
are they supposed to write to the screen
Am I supposed to hear them? I can do neither
it just sound like me playing DONG DONG DONG on my PC Keyboard
Yours Frustrately (if thats a word)

Hey Gerry, this might just be the most obvious to you, but I am hoping you are not trying to change the melody of a RealTrack instrument. They can't be changed (yet).

My limited understanding of the process is that when you hit the Enter or \ keys, notes in the muted melody will play. Moreover, the only note(s) that will play are those that align with the point in time when Enter was hit. The QWER keys then activate notes that lead-up to the melody note played when Enter was hit. My present understanding of the process is that it's not automatic, it's more of a manual process. Notes are only played when you hit the appropriate keys.
As mentioned, I only have a limited understanding. I have investigated it in an effort to try and provide you with information. As a consequence, it has also helped me understand another feature of BIAB. I don't think it's one that I shall be using.

No Mike its noting to do with real tracks see the Video at 6.26 as mentioned above.
Cheers Noel thank You for your Help... I have just about give up on this now as you say its not worth using to produce anything worthwhile.
I have tried to hit the notes bang on the beat, I even did a test melody as he did in the Video but to no avail..
