Hi everybody,
I haven't been able to figure out how to do this by reading the manual, so I have resorted to posting my question on the forum. Hopefully somebody can help me! There's probably a really easy way to accomplish what I want to do, but I bet I'm just missing a check box or a drop-down menu somewhere.
Basically, here's what I want to do: I want to take either the Melody track or the Soloist track from a song (using a MIDI style) and export it as a standard MIDI file in 6-channel guitar format (one channel for each string) in order to import it in some other guitar software (Guitar Pro or TablEdit, for example).
When I export a song as a standard MIDI file, I have the option to export the Guitar track in 6-channel format, but I do not see any way to do this for the Melody or Soloist tracks. No matter what I do, it seems to always export the Melody or Soloist as a single channel.
So, is there a way to solve this problem? Could I, for example, copy the Melodist or Soloist track to the Guitar track prior to exporting? I don't see that function anywhere in the menus.

Hi Brett,
I'm pretty sure what you're asking for is not possible on the Melody or Soloist track.
That being said, BIAB will export midi data for what is on the Guitar track to individual midi channels.
So, if you have a midi guitar strumming loaded on the the Guitar track, you should be able to get it saved to individual channels using "File | Make a standard midi file" and then choosing "Options" from the box that pops up.
If you are talking Realtracks then, in theory, if they have realcharts associated with them, and they are on the Guitar track, your should be able to do this for them as well.

Thanks, Noel. That's what I was afraid of.
Perhaps the problem can be solved by using a different approach. Is there any way to copy the MIDI data from the Melody or Soloist track to the Guitar track? That would probably do the trick.
