Back again for the 3rd time, after buying BIAB in the 90s, and again in about 2005. Never really got a handle on the program. Maybe 3rd time lucky.
So, here is the first thing I am wondering about. It looks like I can enter a tune using notation and changes. Then, the program will arrange a chord solo a la Joe Pass. Yes?
Any quick tips on getting started?

Welcome back. Lots of new and great stuff in BIAB for you.
To address you question - Yes - you put in the chords and the melody, and you will be able to choose from a variety of chord solo styles. You can also influence where, fret-wise, the music is played. So get a simple song in and play with the controls. It may not be Joe Pass, but you can get good ideas about forming the flow harmony notes to follow the melody.
