Sort of a newby. Tried and abandoned BIAB twice in the past. New interface - 3rd time lucky?
I am entering chords to a song. Form looks like this:
8 bars and take 1st ending (1st ending is 8 bars long)
Repeat 1st 8 bars, and then take 2nd ending (2nd ending is 8 bars long)
32 bar form then repeats.
I've entered the chords. I put a 1st ending starting in bar 9, lasting 8 bars and repeating to bar 1.
When I play it, it plays the first 8 bars, takes the 1st ending and then repeats back to bar 1. That's when trouble starts.
On the second time through the first 8 bars, it ignores the changes. It grooves along on Gmaj7 for 8 bars, and then takes the 2nd ending. Upon taking the second ending, it plays the chords as entered.
I've spent an hour and a half on this and I'm stuck.

Try entering your song without a 1st or 2nd ending. You can repeat it as many times as you want. Make sure the start box has 1 entered and the end box has 32 entered. The next box over controls the number of choruses you want to play. Later, Ray

Hi Ellrod,
I do what Ray suggests. I simply lay the song out in one continuous sequences instead of trying to use repeats and tags. It gives me far more control of variation of sections to do it this way.

Create the linear form first is the best answer.
Think of first and second endings, codas, etc as a PRINT function only
Remember to set the number of repeats to 1 in the box on the style line. It will probably read
1 xxx 1 where xxx is the number of bars in the whole song.
Don't forget to check fake sheet mode and always print from the fakesheet layout (the green button with the tied eighth notes)
