Could you pls help me?

I'm willing to buy new BIAB styles, but I don't know which styles are suitable for these Asian pop ballads.

This is a sample song:

Could you pls suggest which styles may be suitable for these kinds of songs?
My sincere thanks,

Hi, I don't know what version of BIB you have and what styles you may have, but the question is kind of hard to answer since there are about 213 styles on rock ballads alone. It would be a matter of buying a BIB package that provides all the styles up until now (cheaper that way)and be ready to spend some time audition the styles that are named as "ballads" or "pop ballads" and experiment with them until you find a suitable one for your song. It sounds boring, but can actually be a lot of fun, and you'll be surprised how many ideas come to you while doing that.

Good luck friend

Mike B

I agree. The full version of BB has well over 3000+ styles of music....and as Mike pointed out, just the ballads in rock are in the hundreds..... add to that the country styles and you have easily twice that number. Probably close to 500 possible styles that might work.

The only way to find out is to audition them, and the new 2014 version has a preview feature to make that job easier.

If you're looking to make a cover of those tunes, BB/RB will get you close but it won't have it sounding exactly like that.

Think of BB/RB as a foundation upon which you can build. It may give you the rhythm section but the synths I heard in some of them would have to be played in real time on a keyboard..... But that's the kind of stuff I do with my tunes..... I use BB/RB to write/compose the song and then add my live tracks to it to finish up.

Oh... and I have found that some musical styles are not anywhere to be found (by me, as of yet) in the style list for BB/RB..... but you have the ability as well to make a style if it doesn't exist.

Mac has some excellent advice on how to go about auditioning styles. Learn from the master.

Good Luck!

Along with the other ideas already put forth, you might find styles that are categorized outside of the Ballad moniker, so don't give up on the other styles if you don't find the one you want in Ballads. You never know what you might find.

exactly.... I often use a rock style, even a hard rock style for my country tunes. If you think that's just weird.... well, have a listen to a few of them and see if you can figure out the basic style that was used as a foundation for the songs.....

Many of the tunes could be produced in some form or other with BIAB BUT I think you would have to work with RealTracks unless you have some serious midi kit.
Even then I think you would be having to take an existing style and then substituting and adding other RTs and Hi-Q midi to fill out the BT, or even creating a brand new Style of your own using the Picker lists to fill it out.
Those BIG orchestral+OD guitars backings are not a feature of BIAB, which IMHO is tilted towards Jazz, USA musical styles, and Bossa so you will have some work to do to get there. But I think it IS possible to create something you could work with.
