Evening folks. When I got BIAB at Christmas, I quickly punched in the chord chart for this song, generated some Real Tracks, posted the song, and ran screaming through the neighborhood. I've since calmed down.

So, here's a more...artistic version? And hopefully a better one. I'm not exactly sure how this song came to be, but I always imagined it being sung by a woman, not that men don't have rough days.... Anyhoo, here it is:

Hi Scott...

We loved this one! I (Al) grew up playing and listening to Traditional Country music. Nice arrangement and mix. Your voice sounds great. As far as who this reminds me of...I immediately thought of Marty Robbins.

Great music, great presentation and super voice! Another super listen! Best to you...

Scott,

That is an excellent mix. A good production and vocal performance.
An old-time country that we don't hear these days. Done as well as it was "in the day".

An enjoyable listen. - floyd

I'm flattered ya'll. Someone else mentioned Marty Robbins, I take that as a reference to the style or genre. What a singer he was - golden.

I was just thinking of a traditional country sound a few years back when I wrote this, and BIAB delivered!

Does the mix sound muddled to any of you? Please, be frank. I'm happy with it overall, except for a T in the first chorus, but I was hoping for a little more...shine.

Scott, Nice write and well put together. It all sounds very clear in the mix except the acoustic guitar. I think that is the mud you are hearing. If you could shape the tone and make it sound more steel string as opposed to nylon string, I think you could regain some crispness. Really nice song. I enjoyed it a lot. Tom

Scott, really liked the song. Well balanced and the pedal steel filled it nicely. Great job on the mix.

Scott,

Sounds really good. I like it. Good voice too.

My suggestion on your next song mix - feel free to ignore - is to pan so all the instruments aren't stacked up in the center.

BTW, that running screaming comment made me laugh out loud.

Tommy, Video, Sundance,

Gotcha'. I'm relatively new to 'producing' a song lol, and have much to learn. I EQ'd that guitar, took out too much high prolly. And though I panned the mix a little, I'm cautious about over doing it. So that's something I can work on.

Thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate the critiques, the compliments are nice too:)

Based on your suggestions, I decided to make a few tweaks to this song. I tried to brighten it up and use panning to better effect. Here is the new version. The old one is gone. Thanks for listening.

Sounds a lot better to my ear with the stereo pan. Great song, too. It's definitely a "run through the streets" feeling when you fire up this software and hear your songs for the first time.

Really enjoyed this song. Good use of the country tracks and instruments. I didn't get to hear it without the use of panning but really liked the mix. Nice smooth voice.

Hi Olemon,

I want to listen, but what do I do when I get to the SoundClick page. That is, where is your tune? It could be right in front of me, but I just don't see it.
