In the mixer I have my piano track set to 90 for volume. At a certain bar I want that to go to 110 and then at a later bar I want it set to 70.
I am in the Bar Settings dialog but cannot make any sense of it. There is an option to make the track Louder (by bar) and another to Fade (by bar) but that sounds like it is going to apply the change gradually over multiple bars...not what I want.
There is an option to "Change by" and then a blank text field but I am not sure what to put in there. Do I type the number I want the new volume to be? That didn't seem to work. Or should I enter the difference from current and desired volume using +/- to increase or fade? Or maybe this is a %?
I looked this up in the user guide but it does not explain it.
Use "Change By" and an delta value to add / remove from the current volume
E.g. is the volume is 90 and you want it to become 115, select Change By 25
To set the volume back again, use a negative value, e.g. Change By -25
Unfortunately the volume level value on the Mixer does not reflect these changes, which is a design problem with the program (IMO)

The legal values that can be entered are in the range -127 to +127. This is because it is a delta value, effectively adding or subtracting from the current value.
BiaB won't exceed the overall allowable range though, so if it is currently 90 and you select a 'change by +100' it won't become 190, it will become 127 (the max allowed) Trevor

I have always understood the mixer level to be the base line from which you make the volume adjustments per track and that having it remain at the set level was by design and not a design problem. I also have worked under the assumption that the Bar Setting option of 'Return to Normal' would return the volume to the setting set by the mixer so you don't have to do math up and down to get back to where you started from, which I think is a good idea so I don't have to guess what level the volume was set to at the start. Perhaps some sort of per bar indication of volume levels could be added somewhere that is always on screen so you don't have to go to the F5 button. Anyway, I think the way it works now is logical for my mind. Just my 2 cents on the matter.
