when I start a song (any song), The bass track always starts late by 6-7 bars. I'm sure it is some I have set up wrong. Can anyone help me correct this problem?

Is there a red box around measure 1 number, which could be caused by muting that track? Another red box on the measure where it starts playing?

When the bass does play, is it right, or is it six bars behind?

Is this a MIDI bass track, or a RealTrack?

Did you download a MIDI file to use to build this song?

Ok, thanks.

What version of BIAB do you have?

How old/fast is your computer?

[Where I'm going with these questions is to find out if your computer is overtaxed, and we need to adjust the RealTrack options. One way to evaluate your computer is to download and run the free utility, Geekbench, and report your score.]

Upload the file so we can verify if it is a problem with the song or your setup.

Given your answers, I don't know what possible setting could cause that. Your computer is excellent.

BarryKJ asked if you did the Opt, Return to Factory Settings and that is a very good suggestion. If that doesn't cure it, I suggest you contact PG Music Support on Monday.

Do you have a chance to put one song (of any song that happens) up to a website and provide us with a link.

(I know that this might not work in the same way on one of our installations, but it is worth a try.)

This is a stumper. A couple of more questions for you:

1. Are you running from your computers internal drive or a usb drive supplied by PGM? If internal, is it the same drive that BIAB is installed on?
2. Is it any bass real track and/or style or are you trying the same one for all songs?

Edit: Taking a look at the new update for RealTracks, it seems a lot of the fixes involved bass issues. Are you up to date with BIAB and RealTracks?

Hi Oldtimer,

Have you used any shots, holds or rests with the opening chords? For example something like C.dpgs for the first chord?

Also, what is the volume setting for the Bass track? (Over on the mixer panel.)

Regards,
Noel
