I have been playing around with MIDI communication between my Roland RD700 and RealBand. I have reverted everything back to factory settings since. In RealBand I no longer have track type icons, they are only numbers instead. I have tried everything to get the track-type icons (of the instrument) back for each track but to no avail. I can open the same MIDI file in Powertracks and I get the proper track-type icon. I have searched through the manual, I have hunted through all the menu choices but I still can't get them back. I changed the MIDI output driver just back to the PC soundcard to try to get everything back to where I started. I deleted the Realband.ini and RB.cfg files as well. Any suggestions on how to get the track-type icons back?

Try going to Options - Patch Names and selecting General MIDI
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thanks for the help. I had to remove the patches.ini file before the 'General MIDI' choice would appear in the Options - Patch Names choice box. It is all back working as it should.
