Ah well, is this the place where wishes go to die ????
But I will try anyway, even just to get it ff my chest, (like a confession ...sort of)
I have been reworking my old songs a bit and have some frustrations ....
1. I have a folder for all by RB SEQ files.
2. I have a separate folder for all my BIAB SGU/MGU files
3. I have a folder for all my final rendered WAV files
4. I have another folder with my published MP3's
If I open any file RB remembers that folder and when I want to render my song it uses that as a default.
If I move the folder to the one where I want to send the WAV into then when I want to open the next SEQ file I have to navigate back to my SEQ folders again. I used to be involved in ergonomics in software development and we were "judged" by the amount of clicks you had to make to do your work, otherwise you get resistance from the end users!
Now for the wish.....
I would ideally like each [save to]/ [render to]/ [open] actions to have way to associate that with ITS own default folder.
Should not be too difficult to have some defaultfolders.ini that can be interrogated when you click a button?
This goes for BIAB as well!!!

+1 on the folders issue.
I have often "saved" a song I was working on, only to find that it got put into the ...\RB\ folder, instead of the folder I opened it from.
When you open a file from (anywhere), do some work on it, and hit the Save button, it doesn't save it to where you got it.

There are existing options that may help.
Under Options-Preferences-File tab
Pay close attention to the check box options.
Tinker with the following check boxes (settings):
Long File Names use Custom Open/Save dialogue
Open and Save dialogues remember last folder independently
Bootup in Folder of last session
Automatically reload file from last session
Different combinations may be the ticket. The first two seemed to be the most influential for this IIRC.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I've minimised the above issues by using song-name folders. I then save everything (BIAB and RB) relevant to a song within the song's own folder. I find that this makes locating all files very convenient for me.

I find that this makes locating all files very convenient for me. great idea Noel! It's not only simple and effective, it's also a very orderly way to keep track of a project!
