I'm getting back to BB after long absence. Running build 381 under Win7x64.

Yesterday I made a waltz with the _MEDCWLZ.STY, allowing RT style substitution, then adding a midi melody and a RT in the Solo track. So the only midi track is the melody. Today, generation produces sound only from the Drum, Soloist (both RTs) and Melody (midi). ......

I just solved my problem while writing this, so I'll turn it into an observation and possible bug report(?).

I noticed that under the plugin tab of the mixer, for the tracks that wouldn't generate, the the first slot was indicated to be the sample tank VSTi. This, even though the default VSTi was the TTS-1 (Cakewalk), and for the individual instruments - in the VST/DX Synths popup window - this slot was marked as "none." (I had utilized Sample Tank earlier in the session, when trying out some HiQ sounds, but I had changed back.) The way I cleared that slot in the mixer was to load a different DX, then go back to "none." After that, the mixer read "none" for all four slots, and the song generated normally.

It's as if the problematic tracks thought that a VSTi was loaded - when the interface indicated it was not - and therefore refused to generate the audio. Anyone seen this, or have a possible explanation? Otherwise, perhaps someone could test by loading a HiQ sound, replacing with a RT, and seeing if the track will generate. More EDIT - Ok, found the patch settings in the stylemaker, edited the style to no midi patch change. No help. The RTs load, but several tracks still think SampleTank is on them.

More info: Sample tank appears loads for each of the problem tracks just by opening the song. Doesn't matter if I save with patches and settings. I have to unload it from each track each time I load the song. From the memo, it appears that style is defined for *both* HiQ voices and RTs for those tracks. So far, I don't see where the settings are in the Stylemaker or Song settings to edit them out. EDIT - Found patch settings in Stylemaker and edited ssssstyle midi patches to "no change." Makes no difference. Song still thinks SampleTank is on them, when they really contain RTs.

EDIT - Problem is in the song file not the style. Also, my subject is wrong technically. The RTs are being generated, just blocked from sounding.
