There are two songs I have in my possession on mp3 that I'd like to have mixed. One is 'Loved by the Sun' and the other is 'Tragedy' but there is a way I'd like them to be remixed and it's complicated. Anyone here wanting to give it a try?

What do you mean they are 'on mp3'? Are they separate tracks at least?

If not, you're likely not looking for mixing but rather mastering.

rharv, because the word DJ is in there, I'm guessing he actually wants a mashup of them, not a mix, and not a master.

No mashing two tracks together, don't need both songs mixed together or anything like that. But two separate songs to be remixed individually. One of the songs, "Loved by the Sun" I just want the voice chatter dubbed out at the ending of the song. There's a spoken dialogue at the end of it and it's just redundant. Other than that, the rest can be left as is.

The second song, is the one that will be complicated and it's hard to explain. What I'd like is for it to be extended. Or rather have an extra verse added to it by using existing parts of the song. The song is "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees.

The lyrics of how I envisioned a Bee Gees song for quite a while now. I always felt that at the beginning it needed an extra verse. I have a friend who even wrote their own lyrics to this song that imo would have been a MUCH better song. And does have that extra verse. It drummed up all kinds of visuals and feelings.

If you can, listen to the song, and read the lyrics carefully and you'll see how we'd like to have the track.

"Tragedy" by the Bee Gees

Here I lie in a lost and lonely part of town,
Held in time in a world of tears I slowly drown.
Here I lie, there's a burning down inside of me
Oh, burning love in a world of tears I slowly drown.

Goin' home; I just can't make it all alone.
I really should be holding you, holding you,
Loving you, loving you.

Tragedy: When the feeling's gone and you can't go on,
It's tragedy. When the morning cries and you don't know why,
It's hard to bear. With no one to love you, you're goin' nowhere.
Tragedy: When you lose control and you got no soul,
It's tragedy. When the morning cries and you don't know why,
It's hard to bear.
With no one beside you, you're goin' nowhere.

(Bridge)

Night and day there's a burning down inside of me
Oh, burning love with a yearning that won't let me be.

Down I go and I just can't take it all alone.
I really should be holding you, holding you,
Loving you, loving you.

Tragedy: When the feeling's gone and you can't go on,
It's tragedy. When the morning cries and you don't know why,
It's hard to bear. With no one to love you, you're goin' nowhere.
Tragedy: When you lose control and you have no soul,
It's tragedy. When the morning cries and you don't know why,
It's hard to bear.
With no one beside you, you're goin' nowhere.

(Bridge)

Tragedy: When the feeling's gone...

Fade to end...

Very close cuts and the first verse is extended for another two sentences. You see?

The original just goes from the line "Held in time in a world of tears" right into "Going home...etc"

You see what I mean?

BTW I'm a "she" and yes I have both songs, individually.

Note: my friend's version of the song isn't included here. Hers had a prehistoric/sci-fi vibe to it.

I just have the songs in mp3 files. I don't have a link for them. I'd have to send the files. Does this site allow that?

Sounds like he wants some serious audio editing from within the song.

Problem is, not too many folks have the software or the skills needed to remove vocals from a mixed track and have it sound good.

This site doesn't allow direct posting of songs. Upload them to BOX.COM and post the link to the box page with the song. Perhaps someone here can help.

I may be able to get a direct link to them on 4shared. Or something, I'll try what I can. When you say "box page" where is that?

And it's just in one song where I'd like the "vocal" to be removed and that's at the ending and it's a talking vocal. Not singing vocal. Or at least masked or over dubbed somehow. Maybe add some of the sustained notes from the singing done by Tangerine Dream?

The second song, I don't want any vocal removed at all, but parts to be added to make it seem like a longer version.

idea #1

most songs repeat the same pattern throughout.

If you can map out the chords and find a wordless section with the same chords as the section where you want to eliminate the words, you should be able to cut a snippet of the wordless section and paste it over the section with lyrics.

If you run the song thru the ACW to line up the tempo of the MP3 with the tempo of the RB project, it will make it easier to select the exact section you need, and paste it exactly where you need it to be.

Done accurately, this almost always ends up sounding better than the results you get by trying to remove lyrics with melodyne.

idea #2

1) import your MP3 to one track,

2) then copy it to a second track

3) apply the plugin PG VOCAL REMOVER to one of the tracks

4) on the original track use volume envelopes to fade the track out slowly just as the part having lyrics you want to remove begins

5) on the track with the vocal remover plugin, use a volume envelope to start the volume at zero, then fade it in gradually where you want the lyrics gone

you'll probably have to tweak the envelopes to get a smooth transition, but the net result should be approximately what you want

The success of the vocal remover depends on how the song was originally mixed. Usually you can still hear a small amount of the vocal... but depending on your needs, that might be good enough.

or not. Your call.

Not sure if I'm linking the songs correctly but:

Loved by the Sun (needing the spoken dialogue at the ending taken out somehow)
http://www.filedropper.com/lovedbythesun_1

Tragedy (see the post above with lyrics included to get an idea)
http://www.filedropper.com/tragedy_1

But those are the two I need a good person who knows how to mix, and do the songs the way I need them.

what are you planning to do with these when they are finished? (assuming some-one wants to do it) Because, if I've understood correctly, the guys who have the copyright to them will want paying!

With time and effort, a high quality backing track can be created in BIAB and RB that would closely mimic the sound of the original production of "Tragedy" and will be of a much higher quality than can be had by starting from an mp3 file. The Bee Gee's music utilizes a lot of synthesizers and there are a lot of quality midi files available on the internet for that particular song that would give you a good foundation to work with.

I would recommend applying a vocal track removal software to just the portion of the track you do not want vocal sounds. Audacity may be all that is needed according to how your mp3 was recorded.

Yeah I'm looking for a good DJ who can mix these two tracks. Also I'm not about to sell them or anything so no copyright stuff is needed. I just want the 2 songs mixed like I described.

I don't have all that fancy stuff to do that with, I just wanted those two songs remixed, or tweaked. It's for my personal use.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
