Hi,

New here. I've been looking for a way to post a screen capture in a post. In FAQ it instructs one to use the following UUBCode:

With the image on my computers desktop I've tried the following thinking that the image would upload when I submitted the post but this obviously did not work.

Could someone please clue me in. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Dan

Dan:

Click on the FAQ button at the top of this page, which takes you to this link.

http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=faq

That gives you info on posting images.

Good Luck!

The image has to be on the internet somewhere. We can't see stuff that is on your C:\ drive. Try a free dropbox account or something like that. Here's an example: -- but put in https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101504714/Simple_Chord_Map.jpg for "Internet Location Here"/ Here's the link done right:

Dan,

The above is how I post images. There is an alternative approach too ...

When creating a post, if the "Full Screen Reply" mode is used (by clicking on "Reply" rather than using the "Quick Reply"), simply click on "File Manager" ...

... and locate the image on your computer. When the post is submitted, the image will be included.

Regards,
Noel

Noel's suggestion has file size restrictions that need to be paid attention to.
Otherwise it works well.
"Max. file size is 1 MB"

The image below was added this way (it was less than 35k in size)

PGFileSize.jpg (33.77 KB, 83 downloads)

Another option is to post it on http://tinypic.com/ and then link to it. No account is needed, no email address, no fee.

Go to tinypic.com . Choose your file. Click upload now. When the next page pops up, hover your cursor over the ad. Enter the text shown in the ad.

The next page is “Share This Image”. Copy the web address under “IMG code for forums and message boards”.

Then paste that address in your comment. Note: tinypic includes the "IMG" on both ends for you.

The whole thing takes about 30 seconds or less.

Photobucket works well for me, you do have to sign up just the same as any forum or web service similar to being a member here, it is free or you can extend privileges by subscription. The best thing being that you can store photo's and video on there, and go find it again several months or years later.
To save me typing more and also where to get the address to sign up, have a look here.

Yup... I use photobucket. It's free, and it holds lots of pics for you.

Once it's up there, you can get the link to it's location from a list beside the pic. Copy that....actually clicking on it automatically copies it..... and paste it into the IMAGE box that pops up in the post.

That works for your pics....

If you see something else that's already there, generally, (I'll say ... most of the time) you can right click and copy that pic's internet location and paste it into that box..... most of the time that works.... but not always.

As always, be aware of copyright laws regarding pictures online.
