I saw the Sharktanks show the other night with Singtrix. It got me thinking about the different products like voice live 3 and others and how they might fit into post production. Cost is also a big issue, where vl3 is $800,I was wondering what gives the best vocal & inst controls, hardware, software or a mix for tweaking a dry recording that may also have BB tracks in a final mix Money is of no concern as I have none  Thanks Wyndham

Within your BIAB/RB software, RB comes with many nice effects you can experiment and both BIAB and RB feature TC Helicon harmonies and is a more than adequate DAW.

I have found no software product which can generate the quality harmonies of a Voice Live or Voice Live Touch (which is my tool of choice). Best I have used for vocal effects is Nectar from Isotope.

I have found no software product which can generate the quality harmonies of a Voice Live or Voice Live Touch (which is my tool of choice). Best I have used for vocal effects is Nectar from Isotope. Is there anything that VL3 has that VL2 Touch does not have that is worth the upgrade to VL3. I am seriously looking at tools(hardware) to help in post production of vocals and instruments(live recording) as well as real tracks, to enhance our songs. I work better in my studio, with tracks I can play with, to get a sound I think others will like. Distortion Octaver Rhythmic Wah Wah These are what I saw were the major differences that VL3 has that Touch does not. Let me know what you think, thanks Wyndham

In my opinion (and take THAT with a grain or more of salt!)
hardware is for live performance
software is for recording.
Main reason is that software is non-destructive. You can experiment with the same dry track until you get it right.
But with hardware you're always recording a wet signal, and then you can't change it back to dry.
Playing live it doesn't matter because you've got one shot at getting it right anyway.
