This veteran here thanks you all for your well-wishes. I will be taking advantage about about 4 of the freebies tomorrow and another next Monday.
Usually a bunch of us meet, but 3 of the "bunch" no longer live around here, so it will just be 4 of us. It has been as high as 8 over the last few years.

Some nice things about being a veteran:
I used to think (pick one) Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines was the best. Now I realize it's the people, not the misson and all are special.
Every country has a military. When we served some were friend and some were foe; now all that served are veterans.
As long as there are politicians, there will be veterans.
To all that served, THANK YOU.
To all presently serving, I salute you.

THIS vet thanks you for recognizing all of us. I plan to enjoy 3 or 4 of the veteran freebies over the next few days. The Hard Rock Rocksino here is giving away a free buffet, then to Handel's for a single scoop cone on the way home, then later in the day I have my choice of Applebee's, Longhorn, and O'Charley's for dinner. Monday the 17th, Golden Corral does their freebie. I just have to watch what and how much I eat, being meatless and not wanting to blow back up like a whale again. I worked way too hard and come way too far. These pictures show me side by side from July 2013 at my retirement party (at 310) to Sep 2014 (at 225). I am honestly embarrassed and ashamed that I ever looked like that. NEVER again.  I should also add that the health kick didn't start until Jan 1 of this year.

Retirement and knowing how much food there was!!
There were 3 8 ft tables in the hallway, and an whole conference room full of pizza, wings, friend chicken and jojos, all kinds of dips and chips, pies, cakes... there were 3 different "retirement" cakes.
I LOVED those people I worked with. And apparently they loved me as well, because 86 of them signed my card and almost everybody came down to personally wish me well, some with gift cards for me. I still hear from about a dozen of them, and they are on the 3rd warm body in my chair. I was called once asking if I could come back and work another few weeks while they interviewed, but they were very understanding when I declined. Retired is retired.
All the vets appreciate the well-wishes! I'll see a whole bunch of them tomorrow as I go gathering free stuff!!
