So far, every time I've exported midi to my DAW its come across out of key and rather mangled. Its happened with different projects/files and many different midi tracks. That's the main issue. What am I doing wrong? Why is this happening?
Also one that came across melodically intact had serious velocity issues where the notes where all so different in velocity it would take me hours to fix it and it sounded nothing like the track in BIAB. It sounded very very wonky and unusable. What can I do better?

Try saving your midi files without midi effects (reverb, chorus) and let your DAW handle those. To make sure I get clean backing tracks, if I've created a Harmony, I always have BIAB write that to a separate track in the midi file (see midi export options in preferences).
Also, check the MIDI Resolution that BIAB is exporting to and make sure it matches the resolution of your DAW. Generally the high the better (within reason, of course), but the important part is that they match.
The actual SOUND of the track is, of course, dependent upon which the quality and instrument you assign to the track in your DAW.

Just checked the preferences. There is a check box for MIDI that states: "Normalize MIDI velocities to ... { }" <== insert a number up to 127 in the box. It defaults to 70 in the MAC version.
You can insert the velocity you want ALL notes to be written out to in the MIDI tracks. 'Course, then you have take the time to edit the velocities in your DAW, although most DAW's have a "humanize" function that adjusts timing and, in some cases, velocity.
