What I would love in BIAB is the facility to sync it to my DAW by Rewire or as a VSTi.
In both versions if you need the real stuff to be generated then that can only be done when BIAB is in focus, then once generation is complete refocus on the DAW and away you go.
Pressing play in the DAW does not/ will not regenerate.

FLoops has both facilities in its versions both using the same window, full screen, as if used as a standalone.

As many audio tracks from BIAB to drag and drop as you want but without the RealBand facility of regenerating a portion of the track. Maybe that could be added to BIAB cool

All synced to any DAW that supports Rewire and VSTi.

In both, the midi output of BIAB (including all 16 channels maybe) could then be routed to individual channels in the DAW and then you can use whatever VSTi you want. The chord track must always be available in the DAW.

In my opinion NOW WE ARE TALKING.
I ALWAYS use BIAB in all my songs

At the moment I have FLoops (rewire) Jammer Pro (MFX plugin) all in sync and controlled by my DAW, Cubase. I always have BIAB open on the desktop and am constantly revisiting the MGU then drag and dropping.
It would be excellent to have BIAB in sync also.

I would purchase the Rewire/VSTi version IMMEDIATELY it appeared.

Just my thoughts

Really that is a great idea. Still I would rather see them dig deep and finally fix four basic things in RB, before they build a VSTi, or Rewired version.

1. fix the tempo sync issue so that all VSTi work properly (mostly all)

2. upgrade the automation to include all the features of say a sonar/reaper/Studio one/Cubase type environment volume/panning plugins/etc/ the ability to draw automation and control the faders, adjust with the track faders the automation.

3. Open up the program where there is more than 48 tracks. While I have never had a project over 48 tracks, some folks do.

4. Related to number 3. upgrade the routing capability so that one can route tracks to VSTis, and VSTs with a bit more flexibility.

Yeah I know that this thread is for BiaB, but by extension, RB with these added upgrades would give BiaB users the DAW they want, one that natively opens BiaB files and carries the same basic functionality. The thought of being able to add BiaB architecture to any DAW is a cool idea. But finally taking RB to where it should be is a huge win.

Robh,

I have little knowledge of RealBand as I am still struggling to get used to it but with my idea the choice of VSTis would be the responsibility of the DAW, via the 2 methods mentioned, not BIAB.

As I said the post was just my thoughts re BIAB and could, I don't know as I am not a programmer, allow the research and development department of PgMusic to concentrate on the functionality/ songwriting/ Real stuff/ Midi supertracks of BIAB rather than, as example 1, "fix the tempo sync issue"

Jammer is different but miles behind BIAB BUT using the MFX version each MIDI track is routed to the vsti of MY choice easily and without problems. Achieved by multiple plugins on different MIDI channels.

Anyway as I said they were just my thoughts.
