I've got a few questions in regard to vocal melody generation. Like other recent posts I've seen here I've been trying to generate some stuff and not quite getting the desired result. My goal is to just get a simple vocal melody line that doesn't have much as far as 16th notes and faster. Just looking for mostly 1/4 and 1/8s. I'm attempting this after I've chosen my key, tempo, and entered my chords in the chart. I've been using Melodist for these attempts. I had tried the Pop 16ths Voice preset with not much luck and had generate chords turned off.

- Which presets are good in the Generate Melody window box to make a simple vocal line?

- Is there any way to tell it a note range to generate? This would help contain it to my vocal range.

- Would Soloist allow that or be an option for that above question?

- Is there an easier way to do this in RealBand?

I guess if I can't get the desired result I could just pop open Piano Roll and write a melody there.
