BiaB 2015 arrived today on USB drive. i purchased the update. any reason to keep 2014 on HD and then just run 2015 from this USB drive?
the 2014 version has the megaPAK and the 2015 everythingPAK. for now i don't see any reason to keep both versions on HD but i could be wrong

Hi MMgWjo,
What I always do is to install the latest version of BIAB/RB over the pre-existing version. I've been doing this since 2006.
Installing the program over the top of an older version safeguards the material that came in bonus packages when you purchased that older version. Older Bonus Pak Realtracks, Realdrums, etc., are rarely released again and are not usually included with the Everything Pak.

really that is the only GOOD way to do it and the way i've been doing it since first version - a long long time ago.

Even installed right over when BIAB went from 16-bit to 32-bit. Will do the same whenever [if] it goes from 32-bit to 64-bit (unless I'm told otherwise).

I concur. What you would not want to do is what is described in the original question, where (if I'm reading it correctly) you would have two installations of the program.
For anyone wondering, there is no reason you have to use your older versions, if you have carefully kept your Bonus Paks from all prior years. I did it this way when building a new computer recently.

I HAD "LOST" MY ALL IN ONE DISK FOR 2014, SO I INSTALLED THE CUSTOM VERSION OF INSTALLS FOR 2015 IN MY NEW HP LAPTOP...THE FIRST COUPLE OF INSTALLS DIDN'T "STICK", BUT WHEN I USED THE COMPLETE CHECK OFF WITHIN THE CUSTOM APPROACH, EVERYTHING STAYED ON THE DRIVE...AND THE UPGRADE STUCK TOO. LOVE THOSE STYLE SOUND, BUT SOMETIMES THE PLAY-BACK NOTES FROM BIAB ARE OUT OF KEY...BADLY...WHAT'S CAUSING THAT?
...ANY FROWNS FROM YOU GUYS WHEN THAT HAPPENS AND YOU HAVE TO STOP PLAYBACK, IT SOUNDS SO "SOUR" BEING OFF-KEY?? SOUNDS LIKE I FEEL WHEN I'VE SPENT 11 MONTHS IN MY 80'S!!

Hi GD, It sounds like you need to set your sound system so that it either operates at 44.1 kHz or BIAB takes control of it and sets it automatically when the program starts.
