I can't find an aug7 change in holds or shots. Gaug play an aug without 7, G7+ plays G7. (Just realized I haven't tried G+, but that again should just be an a aug.) One time, i went into the chord builder and it offered an 7alt which played correctly (as I said, once.) I whooped, and added it to a second bar - and it reverted to playing the dominant, and I could not get that particular phrase to play again, even after backing out of the second 7alt and re-genning many times. It just plays dominants... Ideas? I guess I can try RealBand, but that's a lot of work for a chord voicing... What I think we could REALLY use is a "No Substitution" option to play the EXACT chord as written (F5 would be the right place, and I know you would probably have to flag every phrase in all your RealTracks AND MIDI libraries, but at least you'd only need a spare bit-"Sub? Y/N" is it the written chord or a sub?...) So with that selected, F7 would only play inversions of F7, not 6s, 69s, flat 9 or aug, etc. Normally, substitution is vastly preferred, like a real player, but there are times when you really want just THAT chord. That's why you put it there. Again, thoughts appreciated. BTW, the tracks I'm creating for my next (local gig) CD sound amazing - except for aug7s , it's WAY more fun to play to these than my other options (and I can't use real players, if I told my customers Ron Carter played on this CD, most would refuse to buy, asking, "Do you have any of just you?" And I say, "Yes, these are me with the backing tracks I created." And they buy. Go figgur...

G7+ plays correctly for me. If extra notes to the chord are being played, go to File - Jazz Down Chords, to see if that helps. Later, Ray

And 7alt always plays correctly for me, but then again I only use jazz or Latin styles where they would surely use this chord type.
Would you be able to provide an audio example and a song file that causes this, including info about what instrument(s) and style is doing it?

Thanks, guys. I basically only do jazz and Latin styles as well, and have all I could find for rhythm section work except the soloist. I'll have to make an example up, all I have at the moment are standards.
And I do not use the RT pianos, that's MY job. I only use the guitars, strings and bass. Probably why you have all the changes, Matt. Pianists have more available fingers.
While I am writing a demo, can you check one of two of those charts that play correctly for you with these RealTracks: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzWaltzFreeComp Sw 085 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Jazz Waltz Sw 140 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzSwingFreeComp Sw 190 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Bossa Ev 140
(looks like it's ALL the Oliver Gannon guitars, they are what I use one one style or another, on all my modern swing and Latin guitar tracks. A fine mess you've gotten me into this times, Ollie... )
And maybe it IS me, that 7alt haunts me. But why does it not come back?
I'll be back...
Ray, the extra notes things is about having an option for "no substitutions." My problem is I can't get the higher numbered notes

OK, here's my exemplar, a little ditty I call "Augie Doggy." Augie Doggie Examplar Chord 2 beats, shot two beats, hold 4 beats each chord: G7+, G7+.. | G7+... F7alt F7alt.. | F7alt... Cmaj7b5 CMaj7b5.. | CMaj7b5... BbmMaj7 BbmMaj7.. | BbmMaj7... Eb7b9 Eb7b9.. | Eb7b9... G7b5b9 G7b5b9.. | G7b5b9... D79 D7b9.. | D7#9... C13 C13.. | C13... repeat 4-12 times that's it. Mute the drums and piano so the guitar voicings are clear. ****** Song Summary ************* Title: Augie Doggy File:Augie Doggy.SGU Key=C , Tempo 96, Length (m:s)=4:07 No intro. 16 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 16. Repeat x6 choruses No Melody No Soloist track. Song is saved with Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Bank0, Song is saved with bar changes for Volume Changes, Style is _J140_GB.STY (Jazz Swing Combo (140 RS)) RealTracks in style: ~~481:Bass, Acoustic, Jazz Ballad Sw 085 RealTracks in style: ~~484:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Jazz Ballad Sw 085 RealDrums in style: JazzTerryClarke^02-a,b:Brushes I love all of the Gannon Jazz and Latin guitars RT, but they all seem to exhibit these traits. As I frequently use these chords in ballads, and want to hold the strings and guitars, I am hoping for a work-around that doesn't involve dumbing-down the chords or massive editing. Or perhaps a nice update the the Shots and Holds library - or tell me what I am doing wrong. Any of the above is good... Onw more thought - I'm on a PC, if that changes anything...

I'll give you a +1 on your "Don't sub this bar" idea. Definitely useful.
