1. Is there a way to separate the drum sections into different tracks? So the tin is on one track, toms on another, bass/kick on another?
2. Otherwise, is there a way to control volume on certain parts of the drumkit? I love the LA Hard Rock kit as s whole, except the annoyting ride cymbals 8 or 16 notes overwhelm the entire kit. I'd love to turn those down, specifically.

For RealDrums, you cannot, other than maybe applying something like selective multiband equalization.
For MIDI drums within in BIAB, they are only going to be on MIDI channel 10 and on the single drum track. It's a lot of work, however, but you can edit the individual notes (which represent the instruments played) using the piano roll editor and changing velocities.
Or, you could export the drums to a MIDI file and manage each part separately in a DAW (such as RealBand, for example), where you can export MIDI drums from BIAB to separate tracks. See page 216 in the BIAB 2015 user's manual in the "Saving MIDI and Karaoke Files" section.
You could also load a BIAB file in RealBand and (you will probably have to) convert BIAB tracks to regular tracks, then you can split MIDI drums to separate tracks from within RealBand. Of course, make sure you don't have automatic RealDrum substitution turned on, otherwise you will get RealDrums instead. See page 98 in the RealBand 2015 user manual for how to do this.

If one has Melodyne Editor and a DAW they should be able to separate RDs into different tracks. I have not tried this but I will if time permits. I would try the following:
1-copy the track the identical number of times there are drums and cymbals; for instance if it is a 7 piece kit I would end up with 7 tracks. There is no harm in making more copies just in case of a mistake or you are not sure how many tracks to make. 2-In track one erase all but one drum/cymbal using Melodyne Editor 3-repeat this process on each track making sure you are leaving a different drum/cymbal on each track 4-you should end up with each drum/cymbal on it's own wav track. 5-edit each track to you heart's content
I hope this helps.
I arrived early to a restaurant. The manager asks, "do you mind waiting a bit?" I said no. "Good", he said. "Take these drinks to table 3"

If you want drums separated to individual tracks, doing it in RB isn't the way to go.
Other drum synths do make this much much easier to accomplish. I also have Jamstix and it will output 8 tracks IIRC.... this allows fine tuning of the kit. Kinda wish PG would look deeper into having future versions do this internally. It would certainly be easier to tweeze the snare and the kick rather than trying to do it with EQ and multiband compression.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

I have asked this myself in the past.
Seems the solution is to use midi drums, In realband go into edit------> midi------> split midi drums.
To generate the midi drums part initially in realband from the loaded style Generate---> generate midi track---drums is the way to go about it I believe. Then just do the above to split them then separate tracks.
Thanks to all who pointed this out to me in the past Musiclover

I haven't tried that either, Mario...I don't have much experience with Melodyne yet. But, another less surgical way is to copy or clone the RD track a few times and use EQ to remove or retain everything below/above certain frequencies. You could - theoretically - mix the RDs that way. I just finished a couple of tunes and on one of them the RDs were heavy with what I assume were room and overhead mics, or reverb maybe. The cymbals would ring/echo forever, and the snare hits were awfully harsh. I was able to tame the snare with a transient shaper and EQ the cymbals to reduce that ringing. Just a thought....
