If I already have a 2 chorus song layed out with bar setting adjustments in place, and now want to add a 4 bar intro, will that screw up all of my bar settings? I really hate to re-place all of them, but I really need an intro to make it easier to come in with vocals.

Try it and see. I think that all the chords, Bars and settings adjust.

As Lyn says, try it and see. Just save the song; rename it and save it again and experiment. If you say your original, you can always get back to that. When I'm playing around, it's not unusual for me to have 20+ versions of a song.

All of your bar settings will shift if you either have BiaB generate an intro or if you insert 4 bars then add your own intro.
My normal practice is to always save a song before doing anything that may drastically change the song. So before I change chords, add/delete bars, change from a style I like to try new ones etc. I always make a backup(s) called songtitle1, songtitle2 etc just in case.

Good morning!
Thanks all. I will finish that song when I get home from work then. That is good news. I do save versions of songs now, because one time, for some reason, I thought I could just UNDO, and it was not highlighted. Sometimes multiple Undo's would be nice.

I frequently use the last few bars of a song as an intro. If you do that, don't forget to use the same chords.
I love the mult-undo in Sibelius which has saved me more times than I can count.
I do seem to end up with mulitple biab song copies scattered into different files. I really gotta do better in getting things cleaned up.

That is another good idea. I have trouble with endings. I could just do my own, and maybe do a fade of 4-6 bars or so, and call it good.

Sometimes when I alter the structure of a song that has a tag, the melody and soloist parts get displaced. In other words, they don't adjust correctly as the chords do. I haven't seen it often enough to discern what I'm doing wrong, but be sure to check not only your chord sequence but also any melody or soloist part after your edit. When this happens, I have to do a Copy From To operation to move the parts where they should be.

You are so correct, Matt. I had just opened a version of Chattanooga Choo Choo done by someone else. It had 3 chorus repeats, but I only wanted one. After I changed to one, the melody kept playing after the end of the 1st chorua. Rather than spend a bunch of time trying to figure what went wrong. I just chopped it off with WavePad. Simple solutions for simple folk.
