I have noticed a very strange thing indeed with the BIAB volume. The volume is VERY low compared to say Windows Media player or even when I hit the playback button in the select a style dialogue. With my connected speaker on full, and my laptop volume set to full I can hear the sound from the BIAB playback just about OK. If I used the same settings on PC and connected speaker and play something on windows media it is absolutely deafening. The same goes for the sample playback option in the styles picking menu. To even the sound out I would need to change the volume to just 3 in the windows media dialogue. This is driving me crazy.
PS BIAB play back volume is set to 36 which is the max.
The problem is for every song I play even those that have backing tracks.

You don't say whether your using Asio driver or MME. Find this under Options/Audio settings/Audio driver type.
The better type is Asio on the whole, depending on your sound card/set up.
If its MME then the volume is controlled within Windows. Make sure the volume icon is showing in the notification area (bottom right) - google it, different according to operating system.
When this shows double click on it and click 'mixer' any playing sounds have their own channel.
If you are using Asio drivers tghen go to the mixer for your sound card and check it out there.
Within BIAB on the main screen are also two volume controls - these are under the mixer in the main gui. Make sure these are set up right.

I seem to remember having this problem a while back. Clicking on "restore factory settings" fixed it.

Hi Warblingotter, Try this and see if it helps... 1. Under the audio menu, select "Audio Drivers / Settings".  2. When the next window pops up, activate #1 and click on #2 (shown on below image).  3. Now click on "Default Synth" (#1 below) and then select the dropdown arrow (#2). From the list that shows, select "PG Dynamics". Exit.  Load in a song and see how it sounds. Regards, Noel
