Je viens de recevoir la proposition pour passer gratuitement de Win 8.1 à 10. Peut-on, sans problème, faire l'opération?

Vu qu'il ne s'agit que d'une "pré-commande", vu que Win10 n'est pas encore sorti... que veux-tu qu'on t'en dise... Personne n'a encore pu mettre le mulot dessus alors pour te donner un avis, franchement...
Et puis, sincèrement, pourquoi veux-tu upgrader? Parce que c'est gratuit ou parce que ton Windows actuel te pose des problèmes?
Si c'est la première raison, je vois mal quoi te répondre si ce n'est, si tout fonctionne, change rien surtout!
Si c'est la seconde, ben, si c'est un problème d'ergonomie ou d'utilisation, passe ton chemin, de ce qu'on en lit, 10 sera pareil que 8.
Si c'est pour palier à un problème technique, oublie aussi, il y a peu de chance que ça règle quoi que ce soit.
Si c'est pour une autre raison, vas-y, on te lit... ;op

Je crois bien qu'un certain nombre de versions test de win 10 ont été diffusées.
La raison pour laquelle je pourrais passer à Win 10?
XP, fini les mises à jour
Vista bientôt fini aussi les mises à jour
Win 7 ? La fin des mises à jour est programmée.
Donc si je peux avoir la dernière mouture gratuitement, cela retarde d'autant la fin des mises à jour pour ce Pc. Pour mes autres ordi, je suis piégé.
Tu n'as pas la réponse à ma question mais, peut-être que chez PG le test a été fait.

Bonjour Stent,
Je suis dans le même cas que toi avec deux PC concernés (W7pro et W8.1)
A priori les versions W10 qui tournent actuellement sont des versions "preview" ...
Personnellement, j'ai certaines installations logicielles qui ont été tellement laborieuses à installer et à configurer au petit poil, que je fais le choix d'attendre des retours plus que positifs de ceux qui sont pressés ... De toute façon, on a un an pour se décider.
Je pense simplement ... qu'il est urgent d'attendre !

Perso, je tourne sur Win 8 depuis bientôt 2 ans, et depuis ce temps, je n'ai jamais fait autant de musique là où auparavant je faisais plus d'informatique...
J'ai suffisamment galéré pour ne plus vouloir risquer de nouveaux problèmes, et l'expérience m'a enseigné qu'en matière d'OS aussi bien que de softs MAO, mieux vaut se cantonner à un des upgrade une fois toutes les deux versions.
J'applique ça depuis plusieurs années avec succès, peut-être grâce à la chance, mais j'ai constaté qu'en matière d'OS, les versions successives de Windows sont souvent plébiscitées une fois toutes les deux versions, et décriées avec la m^m fréquence en alternance.
Avec Cubase par exemple, je fais l'économie d'une mise à jour toutes les deux versions. Pareil avec Reason, Band In A Box, et Live. Pour ces trois derniers softs, il m'arrive m^m de sauter carrément 2 ou 3 versions. Parfois je n'effectue la màj que parce qu'une nouvelle fonctionnalité que j'attendais/espérais est enfin implémentée.
Bref, oui, si c'est juste pour profiter de la gratuité, pourquoi pas, mais si au final tu es obligé d'essuyer les plâtres parce que cette nouvelle version est trop buggée et que tu dois downgrader, ben je vois pas l'intérêt de la gratuité.
Perso, je préfère attendre de voir les retours des autres utilisateurs geeks/pressés pour me décider ou non.

Je pense simplement que "l'ancien Coyote WaveTable" n'est plus compatible avec W10, ce qui ne veut pas du tout forcément dire qu'il n'y aura pas de problèmes lors d'un upgrade ver W10 pour le reste de nos installations logicielles et matérielles ... Des "bruits de couloir" laissent supposer que Microsoft aurait lancé cette version gratuite pour "nettoyer" le parc énorme de versions illégales et permettre ainsi un assainissement conséquent de ses versions installées ! Rien n'étant jamais vraiment gratuit, personnellement je reste convaincu que rien ne presse, et qu'il vaut mieux être sur que Microsoft ne sortira pas dans quelques mois, une mise à jour majeure de W10, qui elle, par contre, pourrait poser d'autres problèmes d'incompatibilités logicielles et matérielles à ce moment là ... Mais je te vois dans les "starting blocs", alors si tu te lances ... on attends ton retour d'expérience !

Oui! je viens de faire la mise à jour Win 10
Pour l'instant, BIAB fonctionne correctement, sans intervention sur Coyote.
Tous mes autres pilotes semblent fonctionner normalement.

@Stent Merci pour le retour d'infos ... Si tu constates à l'utilisation quelques soucis, n'hésite pas à en faire part. Je risque fort de franchir le pas pour un PC (W8.1) récent et peu chargé. J'en ai un autre (W7 pro) plus ancien, tellement "bidouillé" qui marche au "ptit poil" qui finira sa vie comme çà ... ... Toujours cet éternel rapport risques/bénéfices ...

J'espère pour toi que les problèmes n'iront pas plus loin ... J'imagine que tu as tenté une ré-installation ? Je ne sais pas comment PG Music gère leur système d'authentification dans ce cas ... Ils ont du prévoir le coup ! C'est l'exemple même que je refuse de connaitre ; je fais tourner des suberbes mais énormes, banques de pianos (Clavier + lecteur de samples sur PC) ainsi que d'autres logiciels à la ré-installation incertaine, et rien que la pensée de misérer pendant des heures en cas de soucis me rend un peu frileux ... Merci de continuer à nous tenir au courant, et bon courage pour la suite ! Corialement boowoo3

En fait, je n'utilise pas RealBand. J'y suis allé pour faire un essai et comprendre ce qu'il peut m'apporter.
Je ne vais pas le relancer de sitôt. Si PG passe pas là je pense qu'i réglera le problème dans quelque temps. Je referai la manip. plus tard.
Sur mon ancien Vista, pas de problème.

Tout d'abord, j'ai pensé - Win10 gratuit, quelle une bonne idée, et pourquoi pas?
Alors, j'ai pensé - pourquoi j'ai besoin de Win10? Tous les chose marchent très bien sur Win 8.1.
Je utilise BiaB, Realband et Powertracks dans mon travaille et je ne peux pas risquer une probleme.
Peut-être un de ces jours mais pas aujourd'hui.

Fort de mon expérience réussie à passer de Win 8.1 à win 10, j'ai aidé un frère à faire la même chose. Avant, je lui ai fait sauvegarder ses fichiers personnels. Bien m'en a pris, puisque, bien que la mise à jour se soit bien passée, Au troisième redémarrage, le mots de passe ne fonctionnait plus. J'ai pu réinitialiser Win 10 par une combinaison de touche: Tenir Maj enfoncé et cliquer sur démarrer en bas à droite, un fenêtre s'ouvre avec le choix " Arrêter, redémarrer, mettre en veille " donc, en maintenant enfoncé la touche Maj, cliquer sur "redémarrer". Une fenêtre s'ouvre avec tous les outils de réparations.
Si non, rien à dire sur l'usage de Win 10 qui, pour moi, me semble plus simple en partie grâce à "Cortana" Pour trouver tout ce que l'on veut aussi bien sur le Pc que sur le web.

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4).
