Have you entered the chords? Is the song loaded into BIAB's audio track?

Could you please give us step-by-step details? Tell us exactly what you did, what happened, and what you expected to happen.

I went to open and chose the song in band in a box, so all I did was open a pre-recorded song. I clicked on solo and nothing was there for me to choose to add to the track. I clicked on drums at the top and there were no options there either, nothig showed up. I expecred to be able to choose drum tracks or something like that to add as well as other instruments that I could choose and add like I did with the sample songs. How do I add instruments to a song that was recorded with just guitar and vocals?

Sounds like you jumped into the deep end of the pool. If you are opening an audio file, then you have to create the chords to accompany it. Then you have to create a tempo map. That is what the ACW does.

I added the notation and tempo map already. How do I add virtual instruments? There is nothing showing up when I click on drums, piano, strings, etc at the top and nothing showing up when I clixk on soloist. I clicked add realtrack and there are non there and clicked add realdrums and it says no realdrums song override.

When you load an Audio File it will "disable" the Styles. You should have seen this warning message

Just click on the Style and "enable".

In the style list, check under Real Track Styles (lower down on list) and see if any styles are listed. You have to hi-lite Real Styles by clicking on it to see what is listed in the right side box.

When you installed Biab, you installed the Real Tracks to the BB/ folder, right?

That message never showed up when I loaded the audio file.

It says styles are enabled. I go to create styles and it is only for a midi file. This is an mp3 recording of someone playing guitar and singing and I just want to add like drums and other instruments to it. I was going to try and go to the top where it says bass, piano, drums, etc and choose drums, then add real drums and choose one from the list. When I click on one and click ok it does not play with the song when I click play. It says NA beside every one of the realtrack options. How do I add one to a song that I opened which was pre-recorded and not a sample track from the biab?

Don't know why the RTs are NA??

Check out this video, especially the final minute which shows how to enable and then select a real style. Be sure not to erase the auidio track which is done in this example.

Not so easily done.... crazy
It is a lot easier to play to a backing then to apply the backing after the fact.

good luck.

The easiest way to accomplish this task is to start with a 'new' project.

then:

Select: FILE -- Select: Open Audio w/ chords. From the BB file open dialog box that opens, navigate to the mp3 file you want to use and BB will import that file into the BB audio track, run the ACW feature and import the chords into the Chord Chart Page.

At this point, styles are disabled so it does not matter what style is loaded. This is to allow you to play the imported mp3 file without any BB style playing so that you can play the mp3 and make any corrections to incorrect chords. This is helpful because you can make changes and not have to wait for BB tracks to regenerate with each change you make. Once you have the chord chart correct to your satisfaction, choose and audition styles (RealTracks or Midi) and open the style of choice. You will have to enable the styles at that time and then generate the backing tracks. Use the mixer to balance the audio file with the BB generated backing tracks. I find it helpful to have the audio track a little lower in volume than the BB tracks. This helps to compare that you have the chord chart correct. You will also have to open the Song Settings and uncheck the 2 bar ending selection in order for the BB generated tracks to end the song correctly. If you want to fade the song, use F5 Bar settings which will allow you to fade the BB Tracks and the audio tracks.
