Under the current technology, we cannot make a medley of putting together a different style and genre in one song in BB and RB (i.e. combining a jazz 4/4 and a country waltz 3/4 styles). Can we expect some future versions to have this feature or it will never happen? Thanks.

I actually think that can be done. Select F5 in the middle of a song and Change the style and Tempo. I have done this with some limited success - it is tricky since it still has to be musical!

Have you tired this?

There is one trick you may need to know.

If you will have both 3/4 and 4/4 in the same song, it must start with 4/4. This may require a silent bar of 4/4 if the first song is in 3/4.

And if the first bar is required to be in 3/4 you'll still get a 4/4 count-in. So, expect the unexpected...

If your first measure is in 3/4 time and your style is in 3/4 time you can get a 3/4 count in.

Set your preference/count-in like this:

You are not limited to the B style count in as there are more options in the list.

I have posted this before and it is in the tips thread some place.

Note that I am using the latest BiaB software.

I trust this works on other systems and I hope it works for you.

Are you sure that came out right, Mario? If the first measure is in 3/4 and the style is in 3/4, you don't have to do anything at all to get the correct count-in. Was one of those supposed to be 4/4? What about if there is a 4/4 song later? Is my advice above no longer correct? Thanks.

It used to be, if I remembered correctly, that all styles had to start with 4/4 time. Am I wrong on that?

My bad Matt, you are right. If you start in 3/4 time and later in the song change to 4/4/ time you stay in 3/4/ time though out the song. This is another of the time signature things that needs to be changed.

I apologize to all for the confusion.

My work around for this problem would be as follows:
1-have no count in
2-in the first measure only have the drums play, this would be in 4/4
3-second measure change to 3/4 time, pick a 3/4 style and only have the drums play for 2-4 measures - this would be your 3/4 count in.
4-go to the measure you want 4/4/ time and F5 to change your settings
Note that you can go back and forth in time signatures many times - I just did it for 4 times.
5-either move the song to your DAW or record your part in BiaB
6-in your DAW you can eliminate the count in(s)
7-in BiaB bounce the song to a wav/MP3 and delete the measure(s) there with a wav editor - there are some good free ones like Audacity.

Just my two cents plus I'm trying to redeem myself!

Yes, those look very good, Mario.

I haven't come across this situation too often, but I recall using this method:

I mute the count-in. Then I create two blank measures at the beginning. The first is the required 4/4 measure, with all instruments muted. The second is a bar of 3/4 in which I mute all but the drums. I let the drums play for one, two or three beats as appropriate in the style and song, as a pick-up substituting for the missing count-in.

I very seldom change time signatures, tempo and key changes yes but not time sigmatures.

Matt, your idea is better than mine so thanx for sharing. You might want to put that in the tip's forum.

Matt, your idea is probably the best workaround. I believe that the problem is compounded because the Count-In is a Global setting, not Local to any particular song. So you cannot turn the Count-In 'off' just for one song.

I think I put that in the wish-list a couple of years ago, but I don't believe it has been implemented.

Good idea, Trevor, to make this a local (song-based) setting.

+1
