Hi All,Ive completed a gospel song which included a nice solo..now the problem..After listening to the song I felt it need a short link so I inserted the extra bars and chords..I then had to generate the song until I found the original one I liked but the solo was different and not as good as the first one...I froze all the instruments except the soloist but having generated many many times just couldnt find the solo again..is there a way out of this or does it mean what Ive recorded on my DAW with the shortened version but the nice solo will have to stand. Thanks Frankie

Why not save the solo off as a WAV file (so you don't lose it) and then adjust it accordingly (in a DAW or audio editor) to match the changes you need to make to lengthen the arrangement (inserting extra bars or whatever). You could then just use the solo as the "audio" track of your BIAB song. As long as the name of the WAV file matches the name of the BIAB file, it will play it along with the BIAB arrangement.
Just a thought.

BIAB is going to generate something new/different every time. And it looks ahead to what's coming up when it does so. So I suspect maybe by adding some bars and changing some of the chord progression, you did not end up with something similar to your original. But I am just speculating here.

This behavior can be used to your advantage if you build the solo in a DAW. One of the issues I have always had with the generation of real track solos is that they tend repeat quit a bit and can limit the phrases available based on the chord progression during the solo.
I usually will generate about 8 real tracks and save each to a separate track in the DAW. I then save my original BIAB song and create a new version to work with. I then manipulate the song structure, key, or chord progression that compliments the original to force BIAB to regenerate completely new real track solos. At this point I'm only interested in the solo so it doesn't matter what the rest of the instruments sound like.
Move those regenerated tracks into the daw and you have completely new phrases that would have never been generated following the original score. It's a lot of work cutting and pasting the custom solo and takes time but worth it to get some completely original phrasing.
Of course you can't do this if your just creating a BIAB piece but you do have the option of moving the completed solo track from the DAW back into BIAB by inserting it as an audio track although I have never done this. I use BIAB for just composing and generating real tracks.

You can open it in Realband, highlight the section and try MultiRiff to get the solo you need.

Freeze your Realtracks whenever you get that perfect riff/solo/sound etc. That will save a lot of heartache.
You can also enter your song chords and generate a solo then save or freeze that wave file. This works well whenever you have any pushes, holds etc that the other instruments are playing, but you DON'T your solo to play.
